Juventus vs ChievoVerona Match Prediction

By William Hall

Juventus Arena welcomes in Chievo Verona on Saturday as Serie A gets back in the swing of things after the international break. Juventus should have a fairly simple task in this match, and they come off the back of a victory over Genoa by a score of 2-4 away last time out. Chievo lost at home 1-2 to Lazio a couple of weeks back. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news and match stats all in our SBAT preview.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Juventus are huge favorites in this match as they have lost just once all time against this Chievo side. They won both meetings last year, although they did not win by wide margins in either contest. After many of their players participated in the World Cup qualifiers, this could be the perfect time for Chievo to push them hard until the end of 90 minutes.

Juventus Preview

After starting their season with a loss in the SuperCoppa Italia against Lazio, many felt that Juventus could have some chinks in their armor for once. They haven't shown any thus far in Serie A so far, but to be fair they haven't played any of the 'good' sides as of yet. In their opening match, they defeated Cagliari 3-0 to at home. They followed that up with a 2-4 win at Genoa. They trailed by two goals very early on as Miralem Pjanic's first minute own goal and a 7th minute finish from Andrey Galabinov looked like sending the points to the home side. However, Juve hit back through Paulo Dybala in the 14th minute. He'd then equalize from the spot on the stroke of half time. Juan Cuadrado scored what would prove to be the winner in the 62nd minute before Dybala grabbed his third to seal all three points in the 92nd minute.

Juventus Team News

Croatian winger Marko Pjaca, a favorite of Max Allegri's, is still injured for the Biaconeri. Also out is center midfielder Claudio Marchisio. A number of stars have returned from international duty, so it will be interesting to see if they change anything or try to give a few players a rest here ahead of the Barcelona match in midweek.

ChievoVerona Preview

Chievo have began the season in decent form so far, winning their Coppa Italia match and also winning on the opening day of the season in the league with a 1-2 win at Udinese. Chievo were at best an average side last term, and their early results suggest they should be somewhere around the same mid table/lower mid table spot this term. Their last match ended in a 1-2 home defeat at the hands of a very streaky but talented Lazio side. Ciro Immobile had Lazio up a goal after just 11 minutes had passed, but Chievo hit back via Manuel Pucciarelli in the 34th minute of the action. They looked like grabbing a point for the longest time, but it was not meant to be as Sergej Milinkovic-Savic struck in the 89th minute to grab all the points for the Rome side.

ChievoVerona Team News

Chievo have just one injury, and it dates back to last season. Forward Riccardo Meggiorini is still out with a knee issue.
