Israel vs Spain Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Spain have already qualified for the World Cup 2018, but they will still be looking to finish this qualifying campaign unbeaten when they travel to the Teddi Malcha Stadium to take on Israel on Monday night. Israel only picked up a narrow 0-1 victory over the minnows Liechtenstein thanks to an early goal from Eitan Tibi. On the other hand, Spain won 3-0 at home over Albania, with Rodrigo, Isco and Thiago Alcantara all getting on the scoresheet in the first half. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Although they have already wrapped up a place in Russia next summer, Spain still should pick up an easy victory in this one as they have managed an amazing tally of 35 goals in nine games throughout this qualifying campaign, while Israel have only scored twice in their last five qualifiers. I’m not expecting more than three goals in this one and I don’t think that Israel can get on the scoresheet here.

Israel Preview

Israel have finally managed to get back to winning ways on Friday, as they registered a narrow 0-1 away win over Liechtenstein. Prior to this result, Israel have suffered four consecutive defeats in this qualifying campaign. The most worrying fact is that Israel have only scored two goals in their last five qualifiers. Actually, scoring goals has been Israel’s main issue throughout this qualification process as they only managed ten goals in nine rounds. This leaves them only in 4th spot in the group G table, which means that their long wait for a return to the World Cup is all set to stretch on. Actually, their chances of booking a place in Russia next summer were very small given that they were handed both Italy and Spain in their group. At home, the Blue and Whites have suffered defeats in their most recent two qualifiers, scoring none in the process. Tomer Hemed is a player to watch here as the Brighton’s striker has helped the team with three goals and two assists in his seven appearances. Tal Ben Haim II has also managed to score two goals for the Blue and Whites throughout this qualifying campaign.

Israel Team News

There are no fresh injury concerns for Israel ahead of this game.

Spain Preview

Spain, on the flip side, are unbeaten in 13 games across all competitions since a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Italy in the Euro 2016 round of 16. The Spaniards have won eight and draw one of their nine qualifiers throughout this campaign, including a comfortable 3-0 home victory over Albania last Friday. They sit comfortably at the top of the group G table with 25 points under their belts after nine games, five points clear of the second-placed Italy. The Spaniards have been scoring goals for fun throughout this World Cup qualifying campaign as they managed an amazing tally of 35 goals in nine rounds. Diego Costa, Isco, Alvaro Morata and David Silva have all been in fine shape throughout this qualifying, having scored five goals each. Real Madrid’s midfielder Isco has been Spain’s most in-form player of late as he managed to score his 4th goal in his last three Internationals on Friday against Albania. Away from home, Spain are winless in seven games across all competitions, scoring at least two goals in six of these. The Spaniards are undefeated in five meetings with Israel across all competitions, having scored at least two goals in four of these.

Spain Team News

Andres Iniesta, Alvaro Morata and Dani Carvajal are all missing through injury, while Alvaro Odriozola, Jonathan Viera and Aritz Aduriz have all been called up as replacements.
