Inverness CT vs Kilmarnock Match Prediction

By Gary Gillles

Inverness were once again involved in a stalemate, as Ross County managed to grab a 1-1 draw at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium. Greg Tansey may have opened the scoring through a deflected effort, but Inverness had a couple of strikes at the woodwork. The opposition’s push for an equaliser paid off in the 86th minute when Alex Schalk scored an equaliser. Kilmarnock, meanwhile, would be happy with a 1-1 draw against Partick Thistle. Chris Erskine’s goal in the 73rd minute looked to have given Partick Thistle a win before Conor Sammon took advantage of the blunder by goalkeeper Thomas Cerny to score the equaliser in the 87th minute.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Kilmarnock have managed only two draws in the last six visits to the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium. Inverness have managed to win the remaining four games. Inverness have suffered just one defeat in the last five home matches, while Kilmarnock are unbeaten in the last five games on the road. A combination of these factors means that a draw is the best bet, especially since it is available at an attractive price. Both teams have managed to score at least once in the last five meetings with each other. In games at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, both teams have scored at least once in five out of the last six games. Since both teams are on a good scoring run of late, I would back both teams to score.

Draw – 5/2

Both teams to score – 4/5

Inverness Preview

Inverness remain just one place above the bottom of the table, despite having suffered just one defeat in the last six league matches. The primary reason for this disappointing position is the inability to convert draws into wins. Inverness have drawn four out of the last six games. Manager Richie Foran, though, will be pleased with the defensive improvements in the last few games. Aside from the 4-0 loss against runaway leaders Celtic, Inverness have been able to hold their own by averaging just over the goal per game. Greg Tansey has been able to emerge as the primary goal scoring option with three goals in his last seven games.

Kilmarnock Preview

After being involved in a flurry of goals in the last few games, Kilmarnock are no longer the lowest scorers in the Scottish Premier League. The club has scored seven goals in the last five league matches. They created a host of chances in the 1-1 draw with Partick Thistle before ultimately relying upon a goalkeeper error. Kilmarnock appear to prefer playing away from home rather than at the Rugby Park, where the team has had just one win in the last six games. On the other hand, they are unbeaten in the last five away matches.
