Hull City vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Tuesday evening (19.45) game from the KC Stadium features recently relegated Hull City playing host to big-spending Wolves. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats. Hull had an impressive performance last time out as they came out 4-1 victors over Burton. Abel Hernandez was the main man that day as he netted a hat-trick while there was a goal for Kamil Grosicki. Wolves made it two wins from two in the league as they went to the IPRO Stadium and defeated Derby 2-0. They had a goal each from Barry Douglas and Ivan Cavaleiro to thank for their success. The last time these sides met was two seasons ago and Hull won the home game that day 2-1. Four of their last six battles have produced a total of exactly two or three goals.

Betting Tips and Predictions

This looks a tough game to call between two sides who have started the season well. I feel Wolves might come out on top but at these prices I am prepared to look elsewhere for my bets. YES in the both teams to score market looks a good bet as both these sides are stacked with attacking talent and midfield creativity. The bulk of goals that Hull have netted this season have come in the second-half so it looks a worth small interest on that to be their highest scoring 45 minutes.

Hull City Preview

It has been a decent start to the season for Hull who picked up a point in their opening day trip to Villa Park before taking all three with a comprehensive victory over Burton last time out. The period just after half-time has proved especially strong for them with all four league goals coming in the 25 minutes after this. Hull are creating a ton of chances and have six players averaging two or more shots per game. Hull are undefeated in their last five home matches against Wolves in all competitions. The Tigers have seen over 2.5 goals in their last three at home to the Midlands outfit and have scored at least two in each of their last six versus these opponents at their ground.

Hull City Team News

Kevin Stewart (ankle) and Ryan Mason (skull fracture) are listed as day-to-day while David Marshall (ankle) injury is also missing until the end of the month. Three players ruled out long-term are Moses Odubajo (broken knee cap), Goebel Evandro (hamstring) and Will Keane (cruciate).

Wolverhampton Wanderers Preview

Two wins from two league games and it has been a good start to life in the Championship for new coach Nuno Espirito Santo. The victories have come against good teams also with a defeat of Middlesbrough on the opening day and then a win at Derby. Both their league fixtures have seen them ahead at half-time and then again at the end of the match. Though he has yet to find the back of the net Ruben Navas has been hugely influential with the ball and he is averaging 2.5 shots per game. Wanderers have managed to find the back of the net on each of their last three visits to Hull. They have conceded the opening goal in five of the last six meetings between the duo.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Team News

Carl Ikeme (hamstring) is back in training while Kortney Hause (knock) could be ready for a return. Three players who will miss out are Ben Marshall, Phil Ofosu-Ayeh (both hip) and Helder Costa (ankle).
