Hull City vs Queens Park Rangers Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Saturday afternoon (15:00) fixture features two sides in the bottom-half of the Championship table.  Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Hull picked up a good point away to leaders Molineux in midweek in a game that ended up 2-2.  The Tigers were 2-1 up after a David Meyler penalty and an own-goal but could not hold on for the shock.

QPR ran rampant on Easter Monday as they hit Norwich for four goals in a 4-1 victory at Loftus Road.  The goals were shared around the team with one each for Matt Smith, Massimo Luongo, Eberechi Eze and Ryan Manning.

The reverse fixture came in mid-August and ended in a 2-1 QPR victory and was the third of their last four meetings to end in this scoreline.  The goalscorers on this occasion were Matt Smith and Idrissa Sylla for the London outfit and Jarrod Bowen for Hull.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Hull have looked decent in recent times at the KC Stadium losing just one of their last 11 but a tendency to draw (five of these) is a worry for potential punters.  QPR are showing improved signs but the price is probably a fair reflection of where they are on the road so I would look at other angles for my bet.

Luke Freeman has two in his last three on the road and in a match with no standout goalscorer he looks worth a play in the first goalscorer market with the each-way option.  In addition, QPR have scored around 69% of their goals in the second-half so back this to be their highest scoring 45 minutes.

Hull City Preview

The Tigers have taken eight points from their last five games which has put a seven-point gap between them and the bottom three.  They sit in 18th place and they now face three in a row against teams in the bottom ten.

At the KC Stadium, they are difficult to beat losing just one of their last 11 with six of these ending all-square.  Three of their last four and 14 of 20 this season in front of their own fans have seen both teams find the back of the net.

Five of the last six Hull have played in the league have gone over 2.5 goals with two of the last five going over 3.5 goals.  36% of their goals this campaign have come in the second 45 minutes.

Hull City Team News

Evandro (unknown) and Moses Odubajo (knee) are doubts. James Weir (also knee) is a long-term absentee.

Queens Park Rangers Preview

The Rs are ending the season well with just one defeat in their last six and three victories in their last five.  Ian Holloway seems to be finding a winning formula and will be looking to finish higher than their 18th place last season.

Away from Loftus Road, they have lost just one of their last three which includes a point at Fulham and a victory at Aston Villa.  Luke Freeman has found the back of the net in two of his last three on the road.

Four of the last five QPR have played have not only gone over 2.5 goals but they have also gone over 3.5.  Around 69% of the goals that they have scored in the Championship this season have come in the second-half.

Queens Park Rangers Team News

Grant Hall (knee) is a doubt while Jamie Mackie (back surgery) and David Wheeler (ankle) are long-term absentees.
