Hull City vs Bristol City Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Saturday afternoon (15:00) fixture is between two sides who are in different halves of the Championship table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Hull continued their winless run as they battled out a goalless draw at the Den against Millwall on Tuesday night. It was their second straight draw and just their third clean sheet of the season. Bristol City also lost in midweek as they went down 2-1 at home to Preston. The Robins went behind just ahead of the interval and the game was put beyond them 12 minutes from time with a 94th minute Cauley Woodrow strike a small consolation. The last time these two sides met was in the League Cup in October 2016 a game that the Tigers won 2-1 at Ashton Gate. It is now seven without victory for the Robins against their opponents here.

Betting Tips and Predictions

At the time of writing Hull boss Leonid Slutsky was rumoured to have been facing the sack so this makes calling a potential tricky looking game even tougher. The Robins will have their backers given their road form but it is not a bet for me. The best bet is to have a couple of players to score at any time in this match and firstly I like the look of Bobby Reid who has three in the last four on the road and will fancy his chances against the third weakest defence in the division. Jarrod Bowen has scored in five of the last seven home games for the Tigers and has been their brightest spark this season and I like the look of him to net here.

Hull City Preview

It is just two points from their last five for the Tigers which has seen them slide down into the bottom five. They are about to embark on a difficult run of fixtures with each of their next seven against teams in the top 14. At the KC Stadium, they have won just one of their last five losing three of these matches. Goals and entertainment are a feature of these games with four of the last five going over 3.5 goals and the one that did not producing three goals. Ten of their last 12 have seen both teams find the back of the net and in two of their last five both teams have netted on more than one occasion. In eight of their last ten the Humberside outfit have conceded in the final ten minutes.

Hull City Team News

Jon Toral (hamstring), Stephen Kingsley (groin), Will Keane (knee), Abel Hernandez (Achilles), Moses Odubajo (knee) and Ryan Mason (fractured skull) are all set to miss out.

Bristol City Preview

The Robins have taken just one points from their last two fixtures though before that had won four straight in all competitions. This is the easiest of their next four with the other three coming against teams in the top eight. Away from Ashton Gate, they are unbeaten in their last nine in all competitions with three victories and three draws from the last six. Their road defence has been strong shipping just two goals in their last five. Five of their last six matches have produced a total of exactly two or three goals. Around 48% of the goals the Robins have netted this season have come in the 15 minutes before the interval or before full-time.

Bristol City Team News

Gary O’Neil, Jens Hegeler, Ivan Lucic and Famara Diedhiou (all knee) are doubts as is Eros Pisano (hamstring).
