Hull City vs Brentford Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Saturday afternoon (15:00) fixture features two sides in need of points towards the bottom of the Championship table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Hull stretched their unbeaten run to three matches as they battled out a 2-2 draw at the Den with Millwall last time. Kamil Grosicki and Markus Henriksen grabbed one each as the Tigers battled out a deserved point.

Brentford stretched their winless run to five as they suffered a 3-2 home loss to Swansea in their previous fixture. The Beed found themselves three down in 27 minutes and despite a goal each from Ollie Watkins and Said Benrahma went down to defeat.

The Tigers have won three of the last four meetings with the London outfit and have lost none of four. Both meetings last season saw both sides find the back of the net with it ending 1-1 at Griffin Park and 3-2 at the KC Stadium.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Brentford did recover well after going three down goals to Swansea last week but the worry is they conceded the three goals with ease. I can’t be having them as the same price as a Hull side who have lost just one of their last seven and picked up a point against Norwich in this run. They look the bet with the security of the draw in the draw no bet market.

With the visitors a mess at the back and the hosts having netted five in their last two I like the home outfit to go over 1.5 goals also.

Hull City Preview

The Tigers have lost just one of their last seven though just one victory in their last five has kept them at the wrong end of the table. They sit in 19th place three places and three points above the relegation zone.

At the KC Stadium, they have won just one of their last six and failed to net in each of their last two. Five of their last six at home have been against sides in the top eight now none of their next 11 at their own place are against teams in the top eight.

Each of the last two and three of the last five in the Championship have seen both teams find the back of the net. Nine of their last 12 have gone under 2.5 goals but each of their last two have gone over 3.5.

Hull City Team News

Jordy de Wijs (thigh), Daniel Batty (ankle), Reece Burke (hamstring) and Eric Lihaj (calf) are doubts while Nouha Dicko (hamstring), Stephen Kinglsey (hip), Evandro, Jon Toral, Angus MacDonald (all calf) and James Weir (meniscus) are long-term absentees.

Brentford Preview

The Bees have lost four of their last five and won just one of their 13 as the side once considered promotion hopes have slide down the table. They now sit in 18th just one place and one point above their opponents here.

Away from Griffin Park, they are without a victory all season losing three of their last four and five of their last eight. They face a decent run of matches with none of their next five on the road against a top eight side.

Each of the last five Brentford have played have seen both teams find the back of the net with four going over 2.5 goals. The London outfit have shipped 12 times in their last five fixtures.

Brentford Team News

Julian Jeanvier (foot) and Emiliano Marcondes (ankle) are both rated doubtful.
