Huddersfield Town Preview

Two goals in two minutes proved to be enough to secure Huddersfield’s place in the next round of the FA Cup after defeating Bolton Wanderers 2-1 at the Macron Stadium. Rajiv van La Parra and Danny Williams scored the quickfire double in the 51st and 52nd minute respectively, as the Terriers made a rapid start to the second half. Bolton defender Derik Osede gave hope to the Championship outfit, but Huddersfield held on to secure a fourth round tie with another second-tier side in Birmingham. It was a timely win for David Wagner’s men, who had gone four without a victory prior to their trip to Bolton after three draws and a defeat in the Premier League. Having started the season with a strong home record, Huddersfield have now won just one of their last five games at the John Smith’s Stadium, coming into this game without a win in their previous three. That said, they still remain 11th in the table in what looks set to be one of the tightest relegation battles in Premier League history. Despite sitting in mid-table, Huddersfield are only four points clear of the relegation zone at this moment in time and a win would be huge for them heading into the final 15 games of the campaign.

Huddersfield Town Team News

Philip Billing (ankle), Jon Gorenc-Stankovic and Elias Kachunga (both knee) are ruled out, while Chris Lowe (foot) is a doubt.

West Ham United Preview

David Moyes was punished for playing a weaker team at Shrewsbury with an FA Cup replay after drawing 0-0 to the League One side in Shropshire. West Ham’s starting XI featured three academy products in Declan Rice, Reece Burke and Jamie Cullen, but the game’s most notable incident came when Joe Hart borrowed a cap from a West Ham supporter to block the afternoon sunshine. It did, at least, stretch West Ham’s unbeaten run to four games on the bounce in all competitions, drawing three and winning one en route to rising to 15th in the Premier League table. Despite the initial sceptic opinions, Moyes has helped significantly improve the side, particularly defensively where they looked a complete shambles under the departed Slaven Bilic. After his match-winning performance against West Brom at the start of January, Andy Carroll will now hope to enjoy an extended run in the West Ham first team, after seeing Marko Arnautovic and Michail Antonio enjoy the lion share of minutes up front under Moyes to date. Taking a total of five points from their last three away games, West Ham could go four unbeaten away from home for the first time since April 2016.

West Ham United Team News

Jose Fonte (ankle) and Sam Byram (thigh) are both missing. Aaron Cresswell (back), Marko Arnautovic (hamstring) and Michail Antonio (groin) will hope to shake off knocks to feature.
