Huddersfield Town vs Norwich City Match Prediction

By Gary Gillles

This live Sky Sports game on Wednesday evening (19:45) features two teams in the top half of the Championship table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats. Norwich have dominated recent meetings between the pair winning three, drawing one and losing just once in their last five battles. That defeat though came in the reverse fixture back in December at Carrow Road which Huddersfield won 2-1. Elias Kachunga was the star of the show that day for the Terriers with two goals while Jonny Howson netted the only goal for the home team. The Terriers suffered a second successive defeat to sides in the relegation battle when they lost at home to Burton 1-0 on Saturday. They saw a lot of the ball but were undone in injury time by a Jackson Irvine goal in a game that also saw Dean Whitehead dismissed.

Betting Tips and Predictions

It is hard to trust either side as Huddersfield have lost two games in a row you really think they would have won while Norwich are awful on the road. I think then it makes sense to swerve the match markets and look at a few other options. No side other than Rotherham has conceded more away goals than Norwich this season so it might be worth an interest in a Huddersfield player to get among the goals. I like the look of Rajiv van La Parra who was the pick of the Terriers front men at the weekend and registered three shots in the game the joint-highest. He goes off at the biggest price of any of the four forward so is my each-way value selection for first scorer. The Canaries though look capable of getting among the goals themselves as they have done in six of their last seven league away games. If Alex Pritchard starts then he looks the value call after firing off four shots at the weekend against Villa.

Huddersfield Preview

Two successive losses means that Huddersfield look to have missed their chance of putting pressure on the top two for automatic promotion. They are now nine points behind second with this game in hand here being crucial as Reading and Leeds are breathing down their neck. Only Brighton (15) have won more games than Huddersfield (13) at their own ground this season. In their last ten in front of their own fans they have won seven, drawn one and lost two. YES in the both teams to score market would have only paid in two of their last seven matches. Five of their last eight home league fixtures would have gone under 2.5 goals. Six of their last eight in the league have seen a goal scored in the final 15 minutes.

Norwich Preview

st one win from their last eight games means that the play-offs look beyond Norwich this season. They now sit in ninth place on 57 points which puts them seven behind Fulham with just seven games remaining. Poor away form has been the issue for the Canaries this season as they have won just four games on the road this season. In addition, only bottom of the table Rotherham have conceded more away goals than the East Anglian side in the Championship this season. In eight of their last ten both teams have found the back of the net while just looking at away fixtures this goes to four of their last five. They have shipped a goal in the first 25 minutes in three of their last four away ties. Cameron Jerome has netted five times in the last eight.
