Huddersfield Town vs Burnley Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Huddersfield welcome Burnley at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with both teams looking to continue their impressive run of form in the Premier League. Huddersfield threw away a one-goal lead following Tom Ince’s early strike to only collect a point from their 1-1 home draw against Stoke on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Burnley threw away a two-goal lead to succumb to a 2-2 away draw at Manchester United. Ashley Barnes and Steven Defour both got on the scoresheet in the first half, but the hosts were lucky to snatch a point following a brace from Jesse Lingard. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview. Feel free to visit our Bet of the day page to check our best daily tips. Betting Predictions and Tips

Although Huddersfield are one of the lowest goalscorers in the Premier League, they still managed to score at least once in seven of their last eight home league fixtures. On the other hand, Burnley have only netted 10 goals in their last ten away games across all competitions. The most recent game between these two sides have ended as a nil-nil draw, and we expect another low-scoring affair here.

Huddersfield Town Preview

Huddersfield have struggled a little bit between the middle of November to the middle of December, but they looked much better of late. Their recent form has seen them lose just once in five Premier League fixtures and come into this clash on the back of a three-game unbeaten streak. The Terriers sit comfortably in 11th spot in the standings, already six points clear of the relegation zone. Huddersfield’s main problem throughout this campaign has been their sloppy defence as they allowed 32 goals in 20 rounds so far. At the other end of the field, they have only scored 18 goals, including 5 from their top scorer Laurent Depoitre. Aaron Mooy and Steve Mounie have also been in decent shape this season, as the pair have bagged eight goals and one assist between them. At home, Huddersfield have only lost three of their last ten home games across all competitions, but they are currently on a two-game winless run. The good news is that the Terriers have won two of their last three home meetings with Burnley across all competitions.

Huddersfield Town Team News

Elias Kachunga, Jon Gorenc-Stankovic and Philip Billing are all missing through injury, but Michael Hefele is back in training.

Burnley Preview

Burnley have been one of the surprise packages of this Premier League campaign and they continued their impressive run of form in midweek as well. After a thrashing 0-3 home loss against Tottenham last weekend, Burnley managed a creditable 2-2 away draw at Manchester United on Tuesday. This leaves them 7th in the Premier League table with 33 points under their belts, just four points of the 5th-placed Tottenham. The Clarets have only scored 18 goals so far this season, but their solid defence has been the main reason for their impressive performances. Burnley have only conceded 17 goals in 20 league outings, which is the third best offensive record in the division. Their away form has also been decent as they have only lost twice in their last ten away games across all competitions. Their sole defeat in their last five league trips was a 1-0 loss at Leicester at the beginning of December. In addition, Burnley managed a comfortable 1-3 victory in their most recent visit to the John Smith’s Stadium.

Burnley Team News

Robert Brady and Tom Heaton are both out through injury, while Stephen Ward and Chris Wood are both doubts. In addition, James Tarkowski is missing through suspension.
