Huddersfield Town vs Arsenal Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Huddersfield Town ended up suffering their biggest defeat since August as they fell to a 5-0 loss against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Gonzalo Higuain scored his first goal since the mid-January move to Chelsea. Eden Hazard’s penalty just before half-time stretched Chelsea’s lead. Hazard and Higuain scored again in the second half before a late goal from David Luiz. Arsenal lost for the third consecutive away game in the Premier League as Manchester City picked a 3-1 win at Etihad Stadium. Sergio Aguero’s first-minute goal may have been cancelled by Laurent Koscielny, but a goal from the Argentine just before the break put Arsenal on the back foot at the break. Aguero completed the hat-trick in the second-half.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Arsenal step into the match looking for their first away victory in the Premier League since November. Arsenal’s last away victory was against Bournemouth. Huddersfield, though, will be a team determined to avoid yet another drubbing after a collapse against Chelsea last weekend. Incredibly, Arsenal have been able to manage only a narrow win in the last two meetings with Huddersfield. I would pick a victory for Arsenal but with under 2.5 goals.

There has been a setback for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang since the turn of the year, as the striker has been unable to score in three out of his last five appearances. The forward still remains in contention for the Golden Boot title with 15 goals. I would pick the 29-year-old to score anytime.

Arsenal win and under 2.5 goals – 11/10

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score anytime – 4/6

Arsenal saw over 1.5 goals in 8 out of their last 10 games played

Arsenal are undefeated in all of their last 6 games against Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town Preview

Huddersfield have shown little improvement since the appointment of Jan Siewert and the club are heading towards a very strong possibility of relegation this season. The team has been quite disastrous in terms of creating chances with forwards like Steve Mounie enjoying a form that is a shadow of last season. Huddersfield may defend with numbers at the back but it has been easy to find a way past the defence with some creativity, while the biggest problem for the relegation-threatened outfit remains scoring goals.

Huddersfield Town Team News

Abdelhamid Sabiri (broken collarbone), Isaac Mbenza (calf), Daniel Williams (knee), and Jonathan Hogg (back) are missing from action for Huddersfield.

Arsenal Preview

Arsenal continue to struggle when it comes to getting positive results in away matches against the top six teams. The poor set of away results has kept the team in a cloud of doubt when it comes to finishing in the top four. The Gunners have now been pushed into the sixth spot, and they face a mountain to climb due to the better form endured by the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea. One of the very few positives for the team continues to be a forward line-up that creates chances even against top opponents.

Arsenal Team News

Granit Xhaka (groin), Shkodran Mustafi (back), Rob Holding (cruciate ligament), Danny Welbeck (broken ankle), Hector Bellerin (cruciate ligament), Sokratis Papastathopoulos (ankle), and Tyreece John-Jules (hamstring) are unavailable for the Gunners.
