Hibernian vs St.Johnstone Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Hibernian are looking to cement the third place in the SPL after a 2-1 victory over Dundee. Neil Lennon’s team made the perfect start when Martin Boyle scored in the first minute. Marcus Haber equalised for Dundee the 21st minute, but parity was restored in the 63rd minute when Simon Murray came up with the winner. St Johnstone’s poor form continued with the team losing 4-0 against Celtic. Scott Sinclair provided the decisive goal in the first half, but second-half goals from Mousa Dembele, own goal from Steven Anderson, and Jules Ntcham provided a comprehensive win for Celtic.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Hibernian are on an excellent run of form while St Johnstone could not be in a much worse position. The winless run now stretches to 6 matches for St Johnstone, and Hibernian may be perfectly poised to take advantage of this run. Lennon’s team have picked up four consecutive league victories and confidence is flowing through their veins. They have also managed back-to-back wins at the Easter Road stadium. St Johnstone have been unable to score in the last six matches. It is a catastrophic form in front of goal, and they are up against a Hibernian outfit that has conceded a goal per game so far this season. However, there have been two clean sheets for Hibernian in the last three games. I would bet on this game producing a clean sheet for Hibernian.

Hibernian Preview

Hibernian are up against new expectations as they head into this match. After having come back into the Scottish Premier League from the Championship at the start of the 2017-18 campaign, Hibernian were expected to aim for a top six finish at the very best. Yet, Neil Lennon has produced a surprise package with the team now aiming for a top three finish – and even aiming to replace Aberdeen in the second spot. The team did go through a wobble midway through the season, but Lennon has been able to quickly get the club back on track. Simon Murray has replaced Anthony Stokes as the top scorer at the club after five goals in 13 appearances.

Hibernian Team News

Hibernian have a fully fit squad available for the game.

St.Johnstone Preview

St Johnstone are on such a poor run of form that it would not be surprising to see them near the bottom three places in the next few weeks, if no improvement in form is made. As of now, the club are in the bottom half of the table as a result of a six-game winless run. The last victory for St Johnstone was towards the end of September when they beat Hamilton at home. Since then, the team has taken a grand total of one point from six league matches. The biggest worry for manager Tommy Wright will be his team failing to score in each of these six matches. Earlier in the campaign, St Johnstone looked like potential candidates for a top-three finish as the team rode on the success of Michael O’Halloran.

St.Johnstone Team News

Brian Easton (knee) is the player unavailable for St Johnstone.
