Hibernian vs Ross County Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Hibernian fell to a second consecutive league defeat, as the team were thrashed 4-1 at the Pittodrie Stadium by Aberdeen. Graeme Shinnie opened the scoring in the 11th minute, but it was a victory inspired by Gary Mackay Steven’s hat-trick. Anthony Stokes claimed a late consolation for Hibernian – albeit with the aid of a heavy deflection. Ross County’s poor form extended with a 3-2 loss against Hamilton at the SuperSeal Stadium. Goals from Craig Curran and Kenny van der Weg were able to cancel out goals from Dougie Imrie and Giorgos Sarris, but Hamilton secured a late winner when Jamie Lindsay scored an own goal in the 89th minute. The game also witnessed red cards to Michael Gardyne and Giannis Skondras.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Hibernian were able to beat Ross County back in September, but the two teams enter into this game with significant change in the dynamics. Hibernian have suffered back-to-back losses, but the team are at home for this game. They are up against a Ross County outfit, which has lost four out of the last six league matches. Lennon’s team have not kept a clean sheet in the last four home matches, while Ross County have scored in three out of the last four away matches. I see value in backing both teams to score. Hibernian have the ability to bounce back from the recent poor form, but the signs are for this fixture to produce over 2.5 goals. The last three league matches for Hibernian and Ross County have met this tally. Since both teams are on a decent scoring run, I would bet on goals over 2.5 in this game.

Hibernian Preview

Hibernian are going through their worst period so far this season, as a run of just one win in the last five league matches has put the club in danger of dropping out of the top four. Hibernian have already watched Aberdeen open up a nine-point advantage in the last few weeks, while Rangers can also pull further ahead if Neil Lennon’s team are unable to reverse this tough period. Over the last six league matches, Hibernian’s only victory came against bottom-club Partick Thistle. The biggest worry for Lennon will be the collapse against Aberdeen during the weekend. Anthony Stokes is now level with Simon Murray at the top of the Hibernian scoring charts with six goals each.

Hibernian Team News

Liam Fontaine (ankle) is the only Hibernian player unavailable for the game.

Ross County Preview

Ross County went through an initial euphoria when Owen Coyle came to the club, but it has quickly died down with the team rapidly falling towards the bottom of the table. Ross County have managed only one point from the last four, and the team are now just two points ahead of Partick Thistle, who have a game in hand. Ross County would be bottom of the SPL 2017-18 if only the last six matches are taken into account, as the team has only managed two points in this period. Craig Curran leads the scoring charts at Ross County with four goals in 18 games.

Ross County Team News

Michael Gardyne (knee) and Sean Kelly (knee) are the players unavailable for Ross County.
