Hibernian vs Hamilton Academical Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

Hibernian continued their impressive start to the season with an unexpected 3-2 win over Rangers at Ibrox. Alfredo Morelos provided the opening goal after three minutes, but goals from Simon Murray, James Tavernier (OG), and Vykintas Slivka put Hibernian in the lead. The away team clearly took advantage of Ryan Jack’s red card in the 36th minute. Tavernier was able to pull one back in the 81st minute, but it was too little too late for the home team. Hamilton picked up the first win of the season in the 3-0 win over Dundee. Goals from Darian MacKinnon, Steven Boyd, and Dougie Imrie provided a brilliant win for Hamilton, but Dundee did have several chances in the game – including a penalty missed by Scott Allan. Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Hamilton have three wins in the last four games against Hibernian, but these two teams will be facing each other for the first time since 2014. Hamilton picked up just one win from 19 away games last season. Hibernian are the surprise team of the campaign so far after managing five consecutive wins. Confidence is within Hibernian, and I would go for a home win. Simon Murray has been a sensational signing for Hibernian so far. The 25-year-old has already scored seven goals in all competitions this season. Even though he has just one goal in six games against Hamilton, Murray’s form is of great significance. I would back Simon Murray to score anytime.

Hibernian Preview

Hibernian have been the surprise team of the SPL 2017-18 campaign after managing to win the last five games, including a win over Rangers. The club were clearly able to take advantage of Rangers playing with 10 men for much of the game, but it was a hugely positive result nonetheless. Another positive was new signing Slivka being able to get off the mark with a goal against Rangers. Hibernian have also been able to reach the quarter-finals of the League Cup where the club will face Livingston. The form of striker Simon Murray will be of a huge bonus for the club. The 25-year-old arrived from Dundee United on a free transfer, and he has seven goals for the season.

Hibernian Team News

Hibernian are not suffering from injuries or suspensions coming into the match.

Hamilton Academical Preview

The opening day loss against Aberdeen and the League Cup defeat against the same opponent were quickly brushed aside by Hamilton, as the club romped to a first league win of the season in spectacular fashion. The next two matches hold plenty of challenges for the club, as they are on the road. Last season, Hamilton had the worst away record in the division after taking just 10 points and managing just one win on their travels. The 2017-18 season appears to be heading down the same route with the team failing to score in the opening game against Aberdeen.

Hamilton Academical Team News

Michael Devlin is now only injury worry for manager Martin Canning coming into the game.
