Hertha Berlin vs Bayern Munich Match Prediction

By William Hall

Hertha Berlin welcome reigning Champions Bayern Munich to Olympiastadion Berlin in the Bundesliga this weekend. Hertha Berlin would have been bitterly disappointed to have not got anything from their last game, slumping to a 1-0 defeat away to struggling Mainz while Bayern Munich through away a two-goal lead to draw at home to Wolfsburg last weekend. They also saw defeat midweek in France as they played PSG in the Champions League. A reaction will be needed this weekend, and with Carlo Ancelotti's job under pressure, a win is desperately needed. Read on for a full match preview complete with all our best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

With Hertha Berlin being so inconsistent this season, it is hard to know how they are going to turn up this weekend. However, when you see Bayern Munich in town sides tend to set up more defensively and try to catch them out on the break. With the threat Bayern Munich have going forward, I don't see anything else happening but a Bayern Munich victory. They look way too good for this Hertha Berlin side, and with the home team suffering with a lot of injuries, I just can't see them coming close.

Bayern Munich have had a couple of poor results which would have been frustrating for a side of their calibre, but a reaction will be in the script this weekend, and with the amount of attacking threat they possess, they should be able to get the win this weekend. Bayern Munich have been able to get the better of this weekends opponents in eleven of their last twelve meetings, drawing the other one. I can see them getting the job done well again this time around.

Hertha Berlin Preview

Hertha Berlin have had a very inconsistent start to the season, winning two, losing two and drawing two of their opening six matches in the Bundesliga. A defeat to Mainz in their last would have been so frustrating after beating a much better side in Beyer Leverkusen just three days before. Hertha Berlin haven't lost a match at home so far this season and will be hoping to maintain that this weekend. However, with arguably their biggest test to date up next, they will need to be at their absolute best to overcome the giants of German football. Attacking midfielder Mathew Leckie has had a great start to the season, scoring four goals in just six matches. The Australians highest ever tally is 10, meaning he is on track for a record-breaking campaign. He will need to up his game this weekend to help his side, with none of the Hertha strikers yet to find the back of the net.

Hertha Berlin Team News

Hertha Berlin have seven players who look likely to miss the visit of Bayern Munich with Davie Selke (toe injury), Jonathan Klinsmann (ankle injury), Julian Scieber (knee injury), Julius Kade (muscle njury), Dennis Smarsch (ACL), Vladimir Darida (rib injury) and Vedad Ibisevic (suspension) all sidelined.

Bayern Munich Preview

Bayern Munich haven't had the start to the season they would have been looking for. In fact, for any other side they would have been happy with the way Bayern have started, but with the quality this team have, they are expected to go out and win every game. The defeat to PSG midweek would have been a shock to the system to many of the players, who are no used to being smashed like that. But the draw to Wolfsburg last weekend would have been just as frustrating after leading 2-0 at halftime. Not all things are bad for the reigning champions, with Robert Lewandowski showing his worth, scoring seven goals in six matches. He will always make it difficult for sides to stop him and that could be the case again this weekend.

Bayern Munich Team News

Bayern Munich will be without just two this weekend with Juan Bernat (ankle injury) and Manuel Neuer (broken foot) recovering from injuries.
