Hellas Verona vs Lazio Match Prediction

Struggling Hellas Verona welcome Lazio to the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi this weekend in Serie A, and with both sides coming into this one of the back of poor results, we could see a very competitive game this weekend. Hellas Verona managed to pick up their second point of the season in the week, playing out a 0-0 draw with Sampdoria. Lazio come into this one of the back of their first defeat of the season, losing to Napoli 4-1 on home soil. A huge reaction will be wanted and is expected this weekend. Read on for a full match preview complete with all our best predictions, betting tips and match stats.
Betting Tips and Predictions
Hellas Verona haven't got going yet this season, and if they keep playing like they have so far, they will be well and truly punished by a stubborn Lazio side. Lazio have had the better of this fixture in the past couple of seasons, winning all of the last three meetings and on two of those occasions, the -1 handicap result has been beaten which could be a shout again this weekend.
Hellas Verona have struggled against the bigger sides so far this season, losing 3-1 to Napoli, 5-0 to Fiorentina and 3-0 to Roma. For me, Lazio are in the same kind of bracket as Fiorentina, so if you put that into perspective, Hellas Verona could be in for another very long afternoon this weekend. Ciro Immobile is now a proven striker in Serie A, and after scoring 23 last season for Lazio, many were wondering if he could follow it up. The early signs are that he could go and smash that total this season, having already scored six goals in five games. If he turns up this weekend, Verona are in trouble.

Hellas Verona Preview
Hellas Verona have been very poor this season, losing three and drawing two of their first five games. In fairness, they have already played some good sides in the league including Napoli, Fiorentina and Roma, but would have wanted more points on the board at this stage. The two draws were both bore draws against Crotone and Sampdoria and althrough a point is decnet, they will be disappointed not to have atleast won one of those matches. Scoring goals is proving a massive problem for Verona, having scored just one up to now whoich came in a 3-1 defeat to Napoli. If they can't sort their form out infront of goal soon, they will keep suffering losses which will risk their Serie A status come the end of the season.
Hellas Verona Team News
Verona have six players out this weekend; Alex Ferrari (leg injury), Gian Felicioli (thigh injury), Mohamed Fares (knee injury), Nicolo Cherubin (hand injury), Martin Caceres (back injury) and Matteo Bianchetti (spinal injury).
Lazio Preview
Bar the blip against Napoli in their most recent game, Lazio have looked very good beating Chievo, AC Milan and Genoa so far. They will see this as another great chance to get some points on the board and keep in close contact with the sides above them in the league. The good thing for Lazio but the worrying part for Verona is that the away side have haven't had any trouble in front of goal this season, scoring ten already. Immobile has been the main source of goals this season, scoring six already. If he is up for it this weekend, he will make it very hard and punish the Verona defence who have struggled when they have come up against good strikers so far this season. There is a lot of quality in this Lazio side that should prove too much for Verona this weekend.
Lazio Team News
Lazio have a number of absentees this weekend. Here is the full list along with the injuries; Bastos (unknown), Dusan Basta (unknown), Federico Marchetti (sprained knee), Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (fitness), Stefen de Vrij (unknown), Felipe Anderson (groin injury) and Wallace (calf injury).
