Hammarby vs Sirius Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Monday evening game (18:00) features two sides in the bottom-half of the Allsvenskan league table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats. Hammarby come into this game on the run of two straight defeats losing last time out 2-0 at Kalmar. Despite not having much of the ball they looked like they would hold out for a point before conceding two goals in the last 12 minutes. Sirius put to an end a losing run last time out as they defeated high-flying Djurgården 2-0 thanks to a goal in each half with Alexander Nilsson having given them the lead and Stefano Vecchia securing all three points. The reverse fixture between the pair came on May 21st and that ended in a 1-1 draw with a goal each from Niklas Busch Thor (for Sirius) and Fredrik Torsteinbo (for Hammarby). It marked the first occasion that this duo had met in the top-flight of Swedish football.

Betting Tips and Predictions

The draw looks the right selection here with neither having much to play for and the pair having won a combined two of their last 12. It also ended in a draw in the reverse fixture and this looks the sensible play. Six of the last seven Hammarby home matches have seen both teams to score while Sirius are always capable of finding the back of the net so have a little interest on the game to end in a score draw which can be found under the winning margin market. Hammarby Preview

Despite a run of form that has seen them win just one of their last seven Hammarby look safe at the bottom end of the table. Going into this round of fixtures they had taken 34 points which is nine ahead of the side in the relegation play-off and they have a much stronger goal difference. At home, they lost their last game but before that were unbeaten in three though they have won just one of their last five in front of their own fans. Both teams to score has happened in six of their last seven at their own ground. Two-thirds (18 of 27) of their league fixtures have produced a total of exactly two or three goals. Around 68% of the goals they have scored have come in the second-half with 29% in the final 15 minutes.

Hammarby Team News

Mads Fenger (groin) is out for the season.

Sirius Preview

A run of six without victory for Sirius came to an end last time out as they defeated Djurgården 2-0. It means they sit comfortably in mid-table though their chances of a Europa League spot are gone after that poor run of form. On the road, they have lost each of their last three but before that their form was strong with ten points from four. Goals are a feature of these matches with seven of the last eight on their travels going over 2.5, Sirius games produce goals and they average the third highest total in the division with 3.07 goals per fixture. Ten of the 27 that they have played have gone over 3.5 goals and 15 over 2.5.

Sirius Team News

Niklas Thor will miss the game through suspension while Daniel Jarl (knee) and Moses Ogbu (broken ankle) are out for the season. Johan Eiswohld (toe) and Karvan Ahmadi (cruciate) are doubts.
