Guingamp vs Toulouse Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Guingamp welcome Toulouse at the Stade du Roudourou on Saturday evening, with both teams looking to return to winning ways in Ligue 1. Guingamp lost 3-1 on the road at Bordeaux last weekend, with their consolation goal being scored by Yannis Salibur in the first minute of the second half. On the flip side, Toulouse suffered a 2-0 defeat on the road at Marseille last time out in Ligue 1, with Pascal Dupraz’s men conceding a goal in each half. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Although both sides have struggled for fluency in this early part of the campaign, Guingamp have been a solid side on home soil over the past five months, winning seven of their last ten home games across all competitions. In addition, Guingamp have won their most recent two home league fixtures, conceding none in this term. Furthermore, Guingamp have picked up wins in each of their last four home meetings with Toulouse in Ligue 1, scoring two goals in each of these. This having been said, I’m backing Guingamp to get all three points here, although I’m not expecting goals as Toulouse have failed to score in their most recent two league trips.

Guingamp Preview

After a narrow 1-0 home win over Lille a fortnight ago, Guingamp suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat on the road at Bordeaux last time out in Ligue 1. Overall, Guingamp have been up and down in this early part of the new season, winning three and losing four of their opening seven league fixtures. This leaves Guingamp in 10th position in the standings with nine points under their belts after seven rounds, just four points of the top five. The only good news is that Guingamp have won their most recent two home league fixtures, conceding none in the process. Furthermore, Guingamp have won their last four home meetings with Toulouse in Ligue 1, scoring two goals in each of these. Antoine Kombouare’s men managed to score eight goals in seven rounds so far this season, but they looked poor at the back in this term. Guingamp have conceded at least two goals in four of their last six league fixtures, but they did well to keep two clean sheets in their most recent two home games. Jimmy Briand and Mustapha Diallo have been Guingamp’s most prolific players in front of goal in this early part of the season, as the pair bagged four goals between them.

Guingamp Team News

Franck Tabanou and Jonathan Martins Pereira are both doubts ahead of this clash.

Toulouse Preview

Toulouse have also endured a disappointing run of form recently, winning just once in their last five league fixtures. They are currently on a three-game winless streak in Ligue 1, including a 2-0 away defeat at Marseille last weekend. The main reason for Toulouse’s recent run of form has been their terrible goalscoring form, as they have failed to score in each of their most recent three league games. Similar to their Saturday’s opponents, Toulouse have only scored eight goals this season and they have also struggled to keep the ball out of their own net. Toulouse hold one of the worst defensive records in the division with 14 goals conceded in seven league fixtures. In addition, Toulouse have struggled on the road over the past seven months, having won just once in their last 15 away games across all competitions. They are currently on a ten-game winless streak away from home, conceding at least two goals in five of these. Head-to-head, Toulouse have only won once their last eight meetings with Guingamp across all competitions, while losing six in the process. Jimmy Durmaz has been the standout player for Toulouse in this early part of the campaign, helping the team with three goals and one assist in his seven league appearances.

Toulouse Team News

Clement Michelin, Max Gradel and Steven Fortes are all doubts, but Yaya Sanogo is back in training following his thigh injury.
