Granada vs Valencia Match Prediction

By Gary Gillles

Granada will be able to rejoice after ending a sequence of four consecutive defeats with a goalless draw against Deportivo La Coruna. The result could have been very different had it not been for Guillermo Ochoa, who produced a fine save to keep out Celso Borges’ penalty in the 77th minute. Granada will not be too disappointed with the low number of opportunities that they created. Valencia secured a second consecutive win as they beat Celta de Vigo 3-2 at the Mestalla. Celta de Vigo scored from a free-kick in the 16th minute through Cabral. However, goals from Dani Parejo and Munir put the home team ahead in the 67th minute. Iago Aspas won and converted a penalty in the 80th minute, but Carlos Sober’s 86th minute goal provided three points for the home team. Betting Tips and Predictions

Valencia won five consecutive games with Granada before drawing the last encounter in November. In the previous six visits to the Nuevo Los Carmenes, Valencia have managed five wins. Yet, Valencia are without a win in the last five away matches. In contrast, Granada managed three consecutive home wins before the back-to-back losses against Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. Despite Valencia’s excellent head-to-head record against Granada, I would back a draw. Four out of the last five games for Valencia have witnessed over 2.5 goals. Three of the last five home games for Granada have also produced over 2.5 goals. I would back this game to produce over 2.5 goals.

Draw – 12/5

Total goals over 2.5 – 8/11

Granada Preview

Granada will be overjoyed at stopping the rot in the away matches. While the club has managed three wins in the last five home matches, the club had suffered a defeat in each of the last eight games across all competitions. The result also gave the club’s first clean sheet since the start of February. Granada will be delighted to return to home comforts, where they have excelled especially at the back. While they have conceded 44 goals on the road, the team has let in only 18 goals in the 14 home matches. The club, though, need more wins than draws after falling seven points behind safety.

Valencia Preview

Valencia have ended even the slightest hint of relegation with back-to-back wins. Incidentally, both wins have come at the Mestalla where Valencia have focused most of the efforts in the fight against relegation. The club have a 14-point advantage over Sporting Gijon in the final relegation spot. Valencia, though, are without an away win since the end of January. Manager Voro will be delighted with forward Munir, who is on loan from Barcelona, finding form at a crucial stage in the season. The 21-year-old has three goals in his last four games.
