Granada vs Malaga Match Prediction

By William Hall

Granada fell to a fourth defeat in the last five matches, as they lost 2-0 against Sevilla. Ganso scored his first league goals of the season with the first coming just four minutes into the game. His second goal came just after the break to seal three points for Sevilla. Malaga continued with their excellent form with a 2-0 win over Valencia. Recio provided the advantage for the home team in the 36th minute. Sandro Ramirez doubled their advantage in the 40th minute, as his heavily deflected strike managed to avoid the hands of Diego Alves.

Betting Tips and Predictions

The last three meetings between Malaga and Granada have finished as a stalemate. However, the home team comes into the game with an extremely negative atmosphere, which has only worsened since the arrival of Tony Adams. With a large section of the crowd against the Englishman’s appointment, Malaga have a great opportunity to build on a run of just one away win this season. The recent win over Sporting Gijon ended the long wait for an away win this season. I would back Malaga to build on their recent form and secure a win.

Malaga have not scored over 1.5 goals in the last eight away matches. Even with Granada’s extremely poor form at the back, I would expect the away team to score under 1.5 goals.

Malaga win – 6/5

Malaga to score under 1.5 goals – 8/11

Granada Preview

Granada were booed off the pitch against Sevilla, as the arrival of interim manager Tony Adams has failed to make any impact. The former Arsenal defender has now overseen two defeats – the team has failed to score in both of these games. The team created little opportunities against Sevilla, and it was not surprising considering that Granada now have the joint worst offensive record along with Leganes. The team has scored only 27 goals in 33 league matches. The minor improvement in home form has now disintegrated with the team losing the last four games at Nuevo Los Carmenes.

Malaga Preview

Malaga have struggled throughout the campaign, but the arrival of Michel is starting to produce a run of good form at just the right time in the campaign. The 54-year-old has been in charge for just over 45 days, but he has witnessed the club winning three out of the last four games – including a win over Barcelona. Three of the club’s remaining five matches are at home, while they are eight points behind the La Liga top 10. After having achieved almost safety, Malaga may start to think about a push for the top 10.
