Granada vs Las Palmas Match Prediction

By Charlotte Louise Bushell

Granada continued to remain rooted to the bottom of the table after a 2-0 loss against Villarreal. Even though this was the fourth away game in the last five, Lucas Alcaraz will be disappointed to see his team surrender meekly without a shot on target. Bruno and Alvaro Gonzalez scored the goals for Villarreal. Las Palmas managed a brilliant 3-1 win over inform Valencia to stay in touch with the top 10. Santi Mina’s early goal was cancelled out by a comeback through goals from Jonathan Viera, Mauricio Lemos, and Kevin-Prince Boateng.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Granada Preview

Granada were the first of the bottom three clubs to change their manager. The arrival of Lucas Alcaraz in October has not had an impact on the team. The 50-year-old has managed just two wins in 14 matches. Granada’s last victory in all competitions was against Sevilla at the start of December. It is also their only league victory of the season. Granada are the lowest scorers in the division with only 16 goals in the 20 league games. They have also conceded the highest number of goals (44). Incredibly, Granada have managed to score two goals in a game only twice this season.

Las Palmas Preview

Las Palmas remain on the verge of a top-10 place, but Quique Setien has not seen his team put together a string of wins necessary to make the jump. The club has not managed consecutive wins since the opening weekend. A huge advantage for Las Palmas has been their offence. The team have the best scoring record (31) of all teams in the bottom half of the table. Even though they have conceded a similar number of goals, it is down to a handful of games like the 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Barcelona in the middle of January.

Total goals under 2.5 - 17/20

Betting Tips and Predictions

Las Palmas have visited the Nuevo Los Carmenes only twice in La Liga history, but they have lost both games. Granada have emerged victorious with an aggregate of 8-4, thus pointing out to a hugely entertaining game. In fact, the last four meetings between the two teams have produced over 4.5 goals. Now, however, Granada have been showing decent form at home in the last five games. They have lost only one game in this run, while Las Palmas have suffered four defeats in the last five away matches. I would back a double chance between a Granada win or a draw.

Only one of the last four away matches for Las Palmas has witnessed over 2.5 goals. Four out of the last five home matches for Granada has seen under 2.5 goals. Hence, I would back under 2.5 goals in the game.
