Granada vs Espanyol Match Prediction

By William Hall

In a game that witnessed only set piece goals, Granada suffered a 2-1 loss against Osasuna. The home team took the lead through Jon Mondragon in the 24th minute. However, Granada were able to equalise just before half-time through Adrian Ramos. A 75th-minute goal from Kenan Kodro put Osasuna back in front and ultimately led to a win. Espanyol suffered a third consecutive home defeat, as they fell to a 1-0 loss against Valencia. Despite having several clear-cut opportunities to score, Espanyol were let down by poor finishing. Gaya scored the only goal of the game in the 75th minute.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Granada may be playing in their last La Liga match for some time. While the club would want to go with a flourish, Espanyol come into the game with just one defeat in the last five away games. They have also managed wins over Leganes and Deportivo La Coruna in the last three league games. Despite Espanyol’s poor finishing against Valencia, I would back the Catalan club for a win.

Espanyol have kept just one clean sheet in the last eight away games. Even though Granada have not scored in the last three home games, their performances against Osasuna suggested an improvement in this regard. I would back both teams to score.

Espanyol win – 20/21

Both teams to score – 4/6

Granada Preview

Granada slipped into the bottom of La Liga following a seventh consecutive defeat. It has been over a month since the club last avoided a defeat. Since Tony Adams took over as the interim manager, performances and results have dropped rather rapidly. Even though the club has scored in the last two away matches, they still continue to possess one of the worst scoring records on the road. Granada have scored just 13 away goals – fewer than any other team – in the 19 away matches. Even at home, the club has only managed 16 league goals in 18 appearances. Artem Kravets is the top scorer with five league goals.

Granada Team News

Espanyol will be looking to end the campaign on strong note, as form at the RCDE Stadium has let them down in recent games. The club has only suffered six defeats at home, but three of those defeats have been in the last few weeks of the season. Even then, the club have managed to sustain a place in the La Liga top 10 even with Malaga going through a late flourish. Espanyol have a seven-point advantage over Malaga, who occupy the 11th spot. Espanyol’s top scorer this campaign has been Gerard Moreno, who has two goals in his last four games.

Espanyol Preview

Dimitri Foulquier is suspended for the match. Matthieu Saunier (hamstring), Mubarak Wakaso (stomach), Franck Tabanou (ankle), and Artem Kravets (ankle) remain on the sidelines for Granada.

Espanyol Team News

Oscar Gaitan (cruciate ligament), Salva Sevilla (knee), Javi Lopez (hip), Marc Navarro (thigh), Juardo (foot), Jose Antonio Reyes (knee), and Roberto Jimenez (shoulder) are the players unavailable due to injury.
