Getafe vs Real Madrid Match Prediction

By Gary Gillles

Getafe failed to hang on to a point against Deportivo La Coruna after conceding a late winner as the game finished as a 2-1 win for the home team. Amath Ndiaye provided Getafe with a lead after 54 minutes, but the home team produced a remarkable comeback with goals from Lucas Perez and Florin Andone. Real Madrid had a customary 2-0 win over Espanyol at the Santiago Bernabeu. Isco came up with both goals in a game which saw Madrid create several opportunities. Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

The Getafe outfit have done reasonably well to pick up eight points from the first few matches of the season. Yet, they face a formidable opponent in the form of Real Madrid, who have a 100% record in the away matches this season. Madrid have conceded just two goals on the road, but Getafe have scored in each of their last five games. The home advantage coupled with Madrid’s leaky defence mean that I see excellent value in backing both teams to score. Majority of the struggles for Madrid this season have been at the Santiago Bernabeu, but Zinedine Zidane’s men appear to be beyond this. The club has picked up four wins in five and this form has largely been down to midfielder Isco. The Spaniard is in great form and even scored in the World Cup 2018 qualifiers. Isco scored in his last game against Getafe. I would back Isco to score anytime.

Both teams to score – 7/10

Getafe Preview

The return to the La Liga has been met with some positive and negative results for Getafe, who will be relatively happy with a 12th place position after the first seven matches. The wait for the first home win was recently fulfilled by the spectacular victory over Villarreal, but some of the best results for the club have been away from home. Still, manager Pepe Bordalas will know that the team has to function extremely well in order to start making up the places up the table and avoid relegation battle towards the end of the season. Angel Rodriguez is the leading scorer at Getafe with three goals.

Getafe Team News

Ezequiel Gorosito (toe), Jefferson Montero (calf), Daniel Pacheco (shoulder), and Gaku Shibasaki (foot) are the players unavailable for Getafe.

Real Madrid Preview

Real Madrid went through a poor start to the season but that now appears to be in the history books with the club managing four wins in the last five games across all competitions. The return of Cristiano Ronaldo has certainly helped in this form, although the Portuguese superstar is yet to score in the league this season. However, his presence has freed up more space for midfielder Isco, who has been dominating the Madrid team over the last few months. Still, the team needs more than just a couple of victories at the Santiago Bernabeu in order to put away the demons of the first few games. Gareth Bale, Isco, and Marco Asensio have all scored two goals each.

Real Madrid Team News

Theo Hernandez (dislocated shoulder), Gareth Bale (calf), Mateo Kovacic (groin), Daniel Carvajal (heart), Toni Kroos (rib), Marcelo (hamstring), Karim Benzema (hamstring), and Keylor Navas (leg) constitute a lengthy injury list for Real Madrid.
