Genoa vs Juventus Match Prediction

Genoa will look to overturn what has historically been a tough fixture for them when they play host to defending champions Juventus on Saturday in Serie A's second week of action. Genoa got off to a decent start last week by drawing 0-0 away to Sassuolo. It was largely an even match, but they failed to show the initiative it took to grab victory. Juventus got off to a comfortable start with a 3-0 win at home over Cagliari. It took just 12 minutes for them to find the net through Mario Mandzukic. On the cusp of half time, Paulo Dybala scored to take them into the break two goals up. Gonzalo Higuain put any doubt there was away after 66 minutes to complete their victory. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news and match stats all in our SBAT preview.
Betting Tips and Predictions
Genoa represented one of the five losses that Juventus took last season, all away from home, so they might just feel a little confident that they could do it again. Then again, that was accomplished with the help of two goals from the departed Gio Simeone and an own goal that shell shocked Juve. In the last four matches in which Juve beat Genoa, they kept a clean sheet and the match was fairly close- with the exception of their 4-0 home win in April. We expect to see Juve's strong defence keep a clean sheet again as they get six points up on the board. Juve to win and keep a clean sheet is at 21/20. Juve is also at 21/20 to win despite being down to -1 on the handicap result.

Genoa Preview
Genoa began with a 0-0 draw at Sassuolo, and it will do little move the needle either way for them. They played an even match away from home, creating a few opportunities for themselves and giving away a few as well. But neither side could find the breakthrough. Genoa were especially rough in the match, fouling very frequently. That kind of tactic will most likely be used again here. When you look at this Genoa squad, you see quite a few big names to it and some good young stars in it as well. But they just don't gel very well together, and the Old Lady are sure to find them out.
Genoa Team News
Genoa will once again be missing suspended center back Armando Izzo this weekend. Defender Luca Rossettini has signed on from Torino in the last week, while they will still be looking to replace departed striker Gio Simeone.
Juventus Preview
The more things change, the more they stay the same. Despite losing two key defensive components and adding a couple of new players, Juventus strolled to an easy 3-0 win in their first match. They never really even got out of second gear in truth, and they didn't have to, as they faced a ten-man Cagliari side that had no choice but to succumb to the champions. Juventus will face challenges throughout the season, but it's been a relatively easy start and they should follow that up with another comfortable victory in this away fixture to a team they usually always defeat.
Juventus Team News
Winger Marko Pjaca once again has an injury issue that will see him miss this match.
