Fulham vs Preston North End Match Prediction

By William Hall

This Saturday afternoon (15:00) game features two sides in the top-half of the Championship table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats. Fulham won their last game before the international break 2-1 at Loftus Road. They had a Jack Robinson own-goal and a Stefan Johansen effort to thank with QPR netting a 90th minute consolation effort. Preston were held to a 2-2 draw by their former manager Simon Grayson and his Sunderland side. They went two-one up after a goal each from Josh Harrop and Jordan Hugill but were pegged back two minutes later and that was the end of the scoring. The last head-to-head meeting between the duo came in March last year at Craven Cottage in a game they won 3-1. Sone Aluko, Chris Martin and Neeskens Kebano got their goals that day with Tom Barkhuizen scoring for North-End.

Betting Tips and Predictions

I think Fulham are a strong side but given that Preston have beaten Cardiff and drawn with Leeds and Middlesbrough they look over-priced to get something from this game. The draw is the most likely occurence (it has happened four of five at Craven Cottage) so take that along with the Lillywhites in the double chance market. Three of five away games for the Lancashire side have gone under 2.5 goals while four of five at home for the London outfit have done the same so this might be a more cautious affair than bookmakers think so go under on the goals line.

Fulham Preview

After a slow start to the season Fulham are finally showing signs that they are the promotion candidates that people thought they were. They have taken ten of their 17 points for the season from their last five fixtures and sat in tenth place going into the weekend. At home, a tendency to draw has proved costly with one victory, one defeat and three matches ending all-square from their five. Four of these five in front of their own fans has seen both teams score. Stefan Johansen has netted in the last two games while Aboubakar Kamara has two in the last three. The ten they have shipped this season is the joint fourth best record in the division.

Fulham Team News

Aboubakar Kamara will hope to have overcome a knock but the game will come too soon for Floyd Ayite (hamstring), Lucas Piazon (broken leg), Tom Cairney (knee) and Sheyi Ojo (dislocated shoulder).

Preston North End Preview

The Lillywhites are one of three teams (Cardiff and Bristol City) are the others who have only suffered one Championship defeat this season. They are one of the draw specialists in the division with five for the season and they sat in sixth place going into the weekend. On the road, they have looked strong with just one defeat and two draws and two victories from five. They do not concede many on their travels with just three shipped though they have scored just five away goals themselves. Preston are ones to avoid for over 2.5 goal backers as they have an average of just 1.7 per fixture with six of 11 going under 1.5 goals. They are decent starters being behind at half-time in just two of their 11 matches.

Preston North End Team News

Gregory Cunningham continues to be having issues with his knee and is a doubt here.
