Fulham vs Millwall Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

This Saturday afternoon (15:00) fixture is an All London battle between two sides in the same half of the table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Fulham were involved in a remarkable nine goal game in midweek that saw them see off Sheffield United 5-4. Ryan Sessegnon was the star of the show with a hat-trick while Sheyi Ojo grabbed a brace as the Whites lead 5-2 with 12 minutes to go but by the end were hanging on at 5-4. Millwall drew their second successive game in midweek as they were held 0-0 at home by Hull. It was quite an entertaining goalless draw with chances created but neither side seemed to bring their shooting boots. The last time these two met came in the 2014/15 Championship season with the Lions winning 1-0 at Craven Cottage and the game at the Den ending without a goal. The home side has struggled in recent meetings winning just one of their last six.

Betting Tips and Predictions

I like the look of Fulham to win this game despite their poor home form I think that victory over Sheffield United could represent a turning point. This is a side who many were tipping to be champions and while they might struggle to catch Wolves they do have the potential to be as good as anyone else in the division. Millwall are no mugs and are tough to beat away from home but the Cottagers look the selection here. Sheyi Ojo made his return from injury in midweek and showed just why he is so highly regarded as a player for the future. He grabbed a brace and I think he looks the call here to net at any time.

Fulham Preview

After a run of three points from their last six victory over high-flying Sheffield United could be the turning point in the season for Fulham. Just two of their next 13 (Cardiff and Boro away) are against sides that can be considered in the top tier of the division. At Craven Cottage, it is no victory in five with four of these ending in a score draw. The Cottagers have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their home matches this season with even Bristol Rovers netting in the League Cup. Their last 11 fixtures have produced a remarkable total of 11 goals in the opening thirty minutes. The game in midweek with the Blades ended a run of four games which had gone under 2.5 goals.

Fulham Team News

Lucas Piazon (broken leg) is close to a return but otherwise the Cottagers have a clean bill of health.

Millwall Preview

It is five without a victory for the Lions though three of these have ended in draws two of which have been goalless. They sit in the bottom third of the table and this marks the start of a horrible run of games with their next six against promotion hopefuls. Away from the Den, they have not won any of their nine this season but five of these have finished all-square. In six of nine on the road they have failed to net but they have scored three in their last two. The last seven Millwall matches have produced a total of 11 goals and over the season they average just 2.11 goals per fixture. Five of their last seven have been without a goal in the opening 45 minutes.

Millwall Team News

Jed Wallace (suspension) will miss out as will Shaun Williams (knee) and Byron Webster (cruciate).
