Fulham vs Hull City Match Prediction

Fulham v Hull City Betting Tips and Preview

Fulham v Hull City betting tips and predictions. Fulham host Hull City at Craven Cottage on Sunday 29th January 2017 in the FA Cup. Fulham head into the FA Cup having been beaten at Reading last time out, the London side lost 1-0 with the only goal coming from midfielder Roy Beerens. Hull will make the journey to the capital in buoyant mood, after ending Manchester Utd’s 17 game unbeaten run in the EFL Cup on Thursday night. The Tigers may have lost the tie over the two legs, but goals from Tom Huddlestone and Oumar Niasse were enough to give Hull hope in their fight to avoid relegation. The last times the two teams met was just over a year ago, when the pair were in the Championship, that day Hull were 1-0 winners at Craven Cottage. The FA Cup could be a distraction for both team, but for different reasons, Fulham are in the hunt for the Championships play-offs and Hull are fighting for their life at the bottom of the Premier League.

Fulham Preview

Fulham have been excellent at home of late, in their last six games they have only lost once when they were beaten 1-2 by Championship leaders Brighton. Apart from that one slip, Fulham should have the confidence to take on the Premier League side on their own turf. Fulham have won three and draw the other two in their last six home games, they have netted thirteen goals during this spell and conceded six. Over 80% of Fulham’s last ten home games have gone over 2.5 match goals, with 50% of Hull’s last ten away games doing the same so the fans will be hoping for more of the same again this weekend. Fulham’s main danger will come from on-loan striker Chris Martin, the Derby forward has netted nine goals in twenty games so far this season, and should be in double figures having missed two penalties in his last two games. Winger Sone Aluko will get the chance to play against his former club, Aluko had four seasons at Hull but left soon after Steve Bruce left in the summer.

Hull Preview

New Hull boss Marco Silva has started to turn his side's fortunes around, his side were only narrowly beaten by Premier League leaders Chelsea last weekend. Then they ended Manchester Utd’s seventeen game unbeaten run on Thursday night, giving all Hull fans hope that the great escape could be on. Silva has wasted no time in bring reinforcements into the squad. With five already through the door, Silva has said that he’s not finished yet, but the Portuguese boss is also fighting fires trying to keep his best players at the club. Scottish Midfielder Robert Snodgrass seemingly on his way out of the Kcon. It remains to be seen how Silva will approach this game, does he give priority to the fight to stay in the Premier League and rest top stars, or go all out in the FA Cup. Either way, he will need to dramatically improve Hull’s away record, as the Yorkshire side have lost their last five games on the spin away from home.

Fulham Team News

Fulham will be without both Floyd Ayite and Neeskens Kebano; both are away on international duty at the African Cup of Nations.

Hull Team News

Hull’s missing list looks more like an airport boarding sheet. Ryan Mason (head) Alex Bruce (Achilles) Curtis Davies (hamstring) Will Keane (ACL)  Markus Henriksen ( shoulder)

Ahmed El Mohamady and Dieumerci Mbokani both away on international duty. Robert Snodgrass has been passed fit, but we are unsure if he will play.

Betting Tips & Predictions

Looking at the stats, it's hard to look past goals in this game. In 60% of Fulhams last ten home games both teams have scored, and in 80% over 2.5 match goals has come in. With Hull having lost their last five away games it would be brave to back them outright to win, but Thursday’s display has given them hope.
