Fulham vs Hull City Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

This Wednesday evening (19:45) game features two sides looking to get a run going in the Championship.  Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats. Fulham were held to a draw by top-of-the-table Cardiff last time out at Craven Cottage. They took the lead through Ryan Sessegnon but were pegged back eight minutes later and a draw was a fair result based on chances created. Hull had a bad day at the office last time as they were hammered 5-0 at the iPro Stadium by Derby on Friday night.  The Tigers seemed harshly treated if you look at the shots data they created more scoring chances but the Rams were firing in front of goal. These two sides met in the FA Cup last season at Craven Cottage and it was the London outfit who came out on top 4-1.  The goals were shared around that day with one each for Aluko, Martin, Sessegnon and Johansen with Evandro netting for the Yorkshire outfit.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Fulham seem like the most likely winners but a tendency to draw too many games would be enough to put me off backing them in the match markets so I would look elsewhere for the bets. Hull have scored just twice on the road from their three games while the Cottagers have just four goals from the entire season which suggests goals could be hard to come by so under 2.5 goals looks the selection. In addition, take a small interest on the game to have under 1.5 goals at bigger prices.

Fulham Preview

It has been a slower start to the season than anticipated for Fulham who tend to draw too many games with four of six in the Championship finishing all-square.  It means that going into this round of fixtures they sat right in mid-table though with five of the next nine at their own ground they will hope to start climbing the table. At home, they have taken just two points from their three games while if you combine that with the end of last season it is four draws and one defeat from their last five.  12 of the last 13 in front of their own fans has seen both teams find the back of the net with two of three this season ending 1-1. The London outfit have netted just four times this season with no player having scored more than one goal. The average time of the first goal scored is the 64th minute and the average time of the first goal conceded is the 74th minute.

Fulham Team News

Neeskens Kebano (unknown) and Rui Fonte (groin) are doubts while Lucas Piazon (broken leg) and Sheyi Ojo (ankle) have been ruled out.

Hull City Preview

After a decent start to the Championship the Tigers are struggling a little with three defeats from their last four.  They have taken seven points from their opening six games which is a solid return and with three of their next five at home will hope to push on. On the road, they started with a point at Aston Villa but have gone on to lose their next two and you must go back to August 2016 for their last league away victory.  They have netted just twice on their travels from three fixtures while shipping eight times. James Bowen has been their leading attacking light this season with four goals though Abel Hernandez has three and Kamil Grosicki has a brace.  Around 42% of the goals Hull have scored this season have come in the opening 30 minutes.

Hull City Team News

Frazier Campbell (groin)), Evandro (hamstring), Ryan Mason (skull fracture), Ondrej Mazuch (knee), Moses Odubajo (broken kneecap), Abel Hernandez (Achilles), Kevin Stewart (ankle) and Will Keane (cruciate) are all unavailable for selection.
