Fulham vs Brighton & Hove Albion Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Fulham’s disastrous run shows no sign of stopping after the team lost 2-1 against Tottenham at Craven Cottage. An own goal from Fernando Llorente gave Fulham the lead after just 17 minutes, but Claudio Ranieri was unable to prevent an inspired second-half performance from Spurs into providing goals from Dele Alli and Harry Winks. Brighton are forced to go through a FA Cup replay after a goalless draw with West Brom in the fourth round. It was a game of half chances for both teams and Brighton were unable to use home advantage to pick up a victory.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Brighton will be quietly confident about inflicting a fifth consecutive defeat upon Fulham, who have been disappointing on several fronts this season. Ranieri has been unable to stop the rot and the Cottagers find themselves in the bottom three yet again. Brighton have been through an inconsistent run but the team has enough confidence and quality to pick up points even on the road. Fulham continue to display a lot of naivety and this makes me go with a win for Brighton.

Fulham have been conceding goals at a huge pace throughout the campaign and it is not a surprise to see the team at the bottom of the pile in terms of goals conceded. The goals from Glen Murray may have dried up, but the likes of Florin Andone have provided Hughton with viable alternatives. I would back over 2.5 goals in the match.

Fulham Preview

The excitement surrounding Claudio Ranieri is slowly vanishing away at Fulham, who have suffered four consecutive losses coming into the match. Crucially, the club has also suffered embarrassing defeats at the hands of lower league opposition in cup competitions. Fulham are struggling to keep out opposition even now and the team has managed only two clean sheets so far this season. Ranieri was expected to impart his Italian discipline into the squad and improve the difference. The January signings have made a difference in terms of going forward, but the team is still showing a lot of naivety when it comes to keeping out opposition. Aleksandar Mitrovic had a brilliant start to the campaign but he has now scored just one goal in his last 10 appearances.

Fulham Team News

Alfie Mawson (knee), Adetayo Edun (eye), and Andre Zambo Anguissa (ankle) are missing from action for Fulham.

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Chris Hughton’s Brighton continue to remain as a solid team on multiple fronts. The Seagulls will be able to pull together most of the positive results in the home matches. It leaves the team with a lot of positivity and confidence to take on away matches. It is not a surprise that Brighton’s only defeat in the last three trips was against Manchester United at Old Trafford. A decisive factor when it comes to maintaining the positive set of results happens to be a strong defence, but Brighton have kept just one clean sheet in the last five games.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Jose Izquierdo (knee), Soufyan Ahannach (broken leg), Jason Steele (wrist), and Alireza Jahanbakhsh (international duty) are unavailable for the Seagulls.
