Everton vs West Ham United Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Everton were held to a 1-1 draw by Huddersfield Town in their latest league outing. Huddersfield silenced Goodison Park by taking the lead in the 34th minute through Philip Billing. However, the lead was to last for under two minutes with Dominic Calvert-Lewin coming up with the equaliser. West Ham’s disastrous start to the campaign took a turn for the worse when they lost 1-0 against Wolves at home. West Ham appeared to be heading for their first point of the campaign when Adama Traore came up with the winner in the third minute of injury time.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Everton will be desperate for three points by the time the match kicks off, as a run of three draws in four matches may start to have an impact on the psychological mood of the players. Everton have been able to win four out of the last six meetings against West Ham, whose confidence is at the bottom after four consecutive defeats. The late loss against Wolves will be especially hard to take. I would pick a win for Everton.

The primary issue for Everton has been at the back with the team failing to keep a clean sheet in the last seven competitive matches going back to last season. The last clean sheet for Everton was back in April. Despite West Ham struggling for positive results, they have decent scorers in the team. I would pick both teams to score.

Everton Preview

Marco Silva has plenty of headaches coming into the game, as his Everton team have lacked the finishing touch in order to convert draws into victories. Even though Everton are one of the five teams yet to suffer a defeat this season, they have picked up just one victory from the campaign. The problems for Marco Silva are compounded by the huge list of players unavailable due to injuries and suspension. There needs to be a substantial improvement in the club’s defensive set-up if the club needs an improvement in results.

Everton Team News

Theo Walcott, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Bernard, and Idrissa Gueye are all doubtful for the game, while Seamus Coleman (foot), Beni Baningime (ankle), Michael Keane (skull), and Phil Jagielka (knee) are ruled out of the game. Richarlison will serve the last of his suspension.

West Ham United Preview

Manuel Pellegrini has received the dreaded vote of confidence just four games into the campaign. The former Manchester City boss was brought into the club in the hope of taking the hammers to the next level, but four consecutive defeats to start the campaign – even after spending a large sum of money – has raised plenty of doubts about Pellegrini’s ability to turn around the situation. The large contingent of players on the treatment table certainly does not help Pellegrini.

West Ham United Team News

Andrew Carroll (ankle), Manuel Lanzini (cruciate ligament), Winston Reid (ligament), Jack Wilshere (ankle), Moses Makasi (knee), Nathan Holland (ankle), and Grady Diangana (knock) are unavailable for West Ham. Javier Hernandez is doubtful with a virus.
