Everton vs Crystal Palace Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Everton suffered a third consecutive away defeat as the team were thrashed 5-1 by Arsenal during the weekend. Aaron Ramsey came up with a hat-trick, while Laurent Koscielny and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were able to add further goals to provide a comprehensive win for the Arsenal. Crystal Palace were able to get a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United to stay clear of the drop. Newcastle opened the scoring in the 22nd minute through Mohamed Diame. Crystal Palace were handed a penalty in the second half and Luka Milivojevic made no mistakes from the spot.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

The Everton team are desperate to arrest a run of poor results. Crystal Palace have been able to get just two away victories this season. Remarkably, Everton have been unable to beat Crystal Palace at home in four attempts. After having come in with some poor performances of late, Everton do not look capable of getting a victory in this match. Palace have the potential to come away with a draw.

Palace have been able to score in each of the last six away matches – after having gone almost the first half of the campaign without an away goal. Everton have been conceding at a tremendous pace, as the defence has had a difficult time coping up with the tactics and formation changes. Everton will be returning to a back four formation, but I still see reason to back both teams to score.

Everton Preview

Everton have had some hammerings on the road recently, and manager Sam Allardyce will be delighted to get back to Goodison Park. After a strong start to his career at Everton, the former England manager has had some difficult questions to answer in recent weeks. Fortunately, Everton’s form at Goodison Park has been rather decent with seven wins in 13 games. A 50% win record over the last six games at this ground is also quite handy. Wayne Rooney is the club’s top scorer with 10 league goals, while Oumar Niasse comes a close second with six league goals.

Everton Team News

James McCarthy (leg), Leighton Baines (calf), and Maarten Stekelenburg (groin) are the players unavailable for Everton.

Crystal Palace Preview

The lengthy injury list, along with a difficult away match, is a factor that goes against Crystal Palace for this upcoming match. Palace have done exceedingly well in the last few weeks, but the lack of enough victories has led to the team remaining just a couple of places above the drop zone. Palace have only picked up two wins in the last six. The absence of several key players – like Wilfried Zaha – could be a blow for Palace coming into this match. Luka Milivojevic is the club’s top scorer with six goals.

Crystal Palace Team News

Manager Roy Hodgson will be without Martin Kelly (hamstring), Connor Wickham (cruciate ligament), Jason Puncheon (cruciate ligament), Jeffrey Schlupp (knee), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (ankle), Scott Dann (cruciate ligament), Wilfried Zaha (knee), and Julian Speroni (knee) due to injuries.
