Everton vs Brighton & Hove Albion Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Everton were quite unfortunate to lose 2-1 against Manchester United at Old Trafford. The Red Devils received a fortunate penalty in the 27th minute and Paul Pogba scored from the rebound despite goalkeeper Pickford saving his effort. Anthony Martial scored just after half-time to extend United’s lead but a Gylfi Sigurdsson penalty offered hope for Everton. However, Marco Silva’s men did not take their chances in the final third and ended up losing the game. Brighton made it three consecutive 1-0 wins as they beat Wolves at the AMEX Stadium. Glen Murray came up with his 100th goal in Brighton colours to hand three points for Chris Hughton’s men, but Wolves were the better team in the match.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Brighton make the trip north to face Everton but it will be an extremely difficult match for Chris Hughton’s men at Goodison Park. Last season’s meeting finished as a 2-0 defeat for Brighton, who have relied heavily on keeping out the opposition in order to get the third consecutive win. Even though Everton did not make the right choices against United, they have enough attacking intensity to come up with a couple of goals. I would go with a win for Everton and over 2.5 goals.

Sigurdsson has been in good form and the midfielder took his league tally to five goals for the campaign after the penalty against Manchester United. This was his first goal since the international break, but he has a greater likelihood of scoring for Everton as the default penalty taker. I would go with the goal from Sigurdsson at any time.

Everton win and total goals over 2.5 – 8/5

Gylfi Sigurdsson to score anytime – 12/5

Everton Preview

Everton were disappointed not to pick up four consecutive wins as they came in with a strong performance against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Yet, a defeat against one of their bogey teams is unlikely to keep Everton down for the long. The club need to pick themselves up quickly with games against the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool coming up in the next five games. The recent run of form has helped Everton make themselves at home in the top 10, but Silva will need better decision-making abilities from his players in the final third of the pitch in order to continue the progress.

Everton Team News

Fraser Hornby (ankle) is the only player on the treatment table, while Phil Jagielka has returned to training from his knee injury.

Brighton & Hove Albion Preview

Brighton have gone back to the basics and it has yielded three consecutive clean sheet for the club. It has sparked a strong rise up the table for Hughton’s men, who are now knocking on the doors of a top-10 place. The Seagulls’ primary objective will be to avoid relegation and they need to keep Glen Murray fit in order to achieve this objective. Murray has just become the second player in Brighton’s history to score 100 goals and he has also shown a remarkable composure and scoring touch for a 35-year-old. Murray has come up with six league goals this season.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Martin Montoya (hamstring), Davy Propper (ankle), and Soufyan Ahannach (leg) are the names unavailable for Brighton.
