Everton vs Atalanta Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Atalanta will look to seal their place in the Europa League round of 32 when they travel to the Goodison park to take on the bottom-placed Everton in the penultimate round of the group E. Everton got thrashed 3-0 on the road at Lyon last time out in the Europa League, in a game in which they delivered just one shot on target. Meanwhile, Atalanta threw away a one-goal lead following Josip Ilicic’s first-half strike to only secure a 1-1 away draw at Apollon Limassol. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview. Feel free to visit our Bet of the day page to check our best daily tips.

Everton Preview

Everton are already out from Europa League group E after collecting just one point in four games. The Toffees are rock bottom of the group E table, already seven points off the joint leaders Atalanta and Lyon. Everton had a solid Premier League season last year and they also splashed the cash over the summer, but their performance throughout this 2017/18 competitive season have been terrible. Their recent form in the Premier League have seen them win just once in six games. Conceding has been their biggest problem this season as they have conceded at least two goals in eleven of their last 15 games across all competitions. The Toffees find themselves only in 16th spot in the Premier League table at the moment with 12 points after twelve rounds, just three points clear of the bottom three. Everton’s home record in the Europa League hasn’t been great as they have lost four of their last seven home games in the group stage. Their recent home form has seen them win just once in their last five games across all competitions. Furthermore, the Toffees have conceded at least two goals in four of their last five home fixtures across all competitions.

Everton Team News

Ramiro Funes Mori and Ross Barkley are both missing through injury, while James McCarthy is a doubt. The good news is that Seamus Coleman and Yannick Bolasie are both back in training.

Atalanta Preview

Atalanta are yet to lose a single game in this Europa League group stage campaign as they have won two and draw two of their four group fixtures. La Dea sit at the top of the group E table tied on eight points with the second-placed Lyon. The Italians are the group’s topscorers with eight goals under their belts after four rounds, including four from their joint goalscorers Alejandro Gomez and Josip Ilicic. The problem is that Atalanta have been terrible on the road over the past three months, losing four and drawing four of their last eight away games across all competitions. The only good thing is that they managed to score at least once in nine of their last ten away games. Actually, La Dea haven’t been in such a good run of form over the past two months, having won just three of their last eleven competitive fixtures. Domestically, Atalanta are currently on a three-game winless streak and find themselves only in 12th spot in the Serie A table with 16 points to their name after 13 rounds.

Atalanta Team News

Leonardo Spinazzola is missing through a thigh injury, but Mattia Caldara is back in training.
