Espanyol vs Levante Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Espanyol three-game unbeaten run came to a conclusion with a 2-0 loss against Real Madrid. Despite numerous stars on the pitch, it was midfielder Isco’s brace in either half that proved to be the crucial element of the game. Levante suffered a second consecutive league defeat as they lost 2-0 at home to Deportivo Alaves. After a decent start of the game, Levante’s heads dropped once Deportivo Alaves took the lead through Munir in the 33rd minute. The game was made safe through Alvaro Medran, who scored with nine minutes of normal time left. Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Levante were able to win the recent encounter with Espanyol, but they make the trip to the RCDE Stadium on the back of two consecutive losses. Levante’s last victory at this ground was in 2012 and they have since suffered three defeats in the last five visits. Even though Espanyol have not made a great start to the campaign, the team is strong at home and both their La Liga 2017-18 wins have been at home. I would back a win for Espanyol. The recent improvement in form has been down to goals from Gerard Moreno, who has three in his last four league matches for the club. The 25-year-old was one of the top scorers for the club last season with 13 league goals, while he has scored against Levante in one of the last three appearances. I would back Gerard Moreno to score anytime in the game.

Espanyol Preview

Espanyol showed signs of returning to form before crashing to a loss against Real Madrid, but this defeat would not spring a surprise to manager Quique Flores or the club supporters as Espanyol have perennially struggled in visits to the Santiago Bernabeu. The club made a poor start to the season and were without a win after the first three games. However, wins over Celta de Vigo and Deportivo La Coruna showed that the club are finding their feet – especially at the RCDE Stadium. Gerard Moreno is the top scorer for the club with three goals in the league.

Espanyol Team News

Oscar Gaitan (cruciate ligament), Sergio Sanchez (calf), Marc Navarro (ankle), Victor Sanchez (calf), Pablo Piatti (muscle), and Adrian Lopez (meniscus) are the players unavailable for Espanyol.

Levante Preview

Levante’s strong start to the season may have officially concluded with back-to-back losses. There were signs of the team’s confidence slipping away in the recent loss against Deportivo Alaves. Levante’s task of rediscovering their form is made difficult with the team set for three away games in the next four in all competitions. After having scored in each of the first five La Liga 2017-18 matches, Levante have now failed to score in the last two games. The international break has provided time for manager Juan Muniz to ponder over the team’s fortunes. Enis Bardhi is the leading scorer at Levante this season with three league goals.

Levante Team News

Samuel Sanchez (thigh), Jason (hamstring), Jefferson Lerma (hamstring), and Roger Marti Salvador (cruciate ligament) are the players unavailable for Levante.
