Eintracht Frankfurt vs VfB Stuttgart Match Prediction

By William Hall

Eintracht Frankfurt welcome Stuttgart to the Commerzbank Arena this Saturday in the Bundesliga. With both sides having slow starts to the season, this is an excellent opportunity for the pair to get three points on the board. Frankfurt come into the game off the back of a 2-1 defeat away to RB Leipzig as Stuttgart held off Augsburg to pick up a point on home soil. This is an excellent opportunity to get their seasons up and running. Who we think is going to come out on top will be below in our betting tips and predictions. Read on for a full match preview complete with all our best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

With both of these teams struggling to find their best form so far this season, I can't see this being one of the most entertaining games this weekend. Between the 12 games, the sides have played this season, just three of them has seen over 2.5 goals, for me making my first bet for the game an easy one. With both sets of strikers struggling to find their feet and out of confidence, I can't see this being a goal fest. In fact, my second bet for this game is going to be a 0-0 draw. Yes, it is always hard to call a correct score, but I just don't see where they goals are going to come from in both of these teams.

Stuttgart have had the better of this fixture in the last couple of seasons, but the way they have started this season's Bundesliga doesn't fill me with confidence that they are going to have an excellent season. Frankfurt haven't won a home game in the Bundesliga in their last four, losing three and drawing one. I can see that being extended this weekend with another draw.

Eintracht Frankfurt Preview

Frankfurt have had a very inconsistent start to the season, winning two, losing three and drawing one. With the side coming into this one off the back of a defeat away to RB Leipzig last time out, they will be looking for yet another positive response this weekend. Everytime the side have lost this season, they have been able to back it up with a win which is what they will look for again this weekend. So far this season, only two of the six games Frankfurt have played have had over 25 goals, showing they are not a side that score or concede too many. In fact, in their three games, they have picked up the wins/draw, there has been no more than one goal involved in the match. Stuttgart haven't had much success in this fixture recently, with just one win against Stuttgart in their last four meetings. They will be looking to put that right this weekend which could prove to be a massive victory come to the end of the season if they can make it count.

Eintracht Frankfurt Team News

Eintracht Frankfurt are lucky enough to have no injuires or suspensions this weekend.

VfB Stuttgart Preview

Stuttgart have had the same start as their opponents this weekend, winning two, losing three and drawing one of their opening six matches which has left them with seven points in 12th position. However, they come into the game on slightly worse form, having not one in their previous two outings. They firstly lost to Borussia M'gladback away from home before holding Augsburg to a 0-0 draw, which isn't a bad result considering Augsburgs start. Stuttgart have had the better of Frankfurt over the past couple of seasons, winning two, drawing one and losing just one of their last four meetings. They will be hoping to extend that run this weekend in the hunt for all three points. It's the same for Stuttgart in the fact that there are not too many goals in the games they play with just one of their opening six going over 2.5 goals. I can see it being the same again this weekend.

VfB Stuttgart Team News

Stuttgart have six players sidelined for the trip to Frankfurt with Anto Grgic (ankle injury), Chadrac Akolo (strain), Christian Gentner (head injury), Matthias Zimmermann (ACL), Carlos Mane (knee injury) and Emiliano Insua (knee injury) all out.
