By Marius Hrebenciuc

Eintracht Frankfurt and Ingolstadt will square off at the Commerzbank-Arena on Saturday afternoon, with both sides looking to return to winning ways in the Bundesliga. Eintracht Frankfurt were thrashed 3-0 on the road at Bayer Leverkusen last time out in the Bundesliga. Meanwhile, Ingolstadt lost 0-2 at home at the hands of the reigning champions Bayern Munich, in a game in which they failed to deliver a single shot on target. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news and match stats all in our SBAT preview.

Eintracht Frankfurt Preview

Eintracht Frankfurt were on a three-game winning streak across all competitions prior to their 3-0 thrashing at Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend. They still kept their third position in the Bundesliga table, but they now have just one point more than the 4th-placed Borussia Dortmund. Although they conceded three goals last weekend, Eintracht Frankfurt still have one of the best defensive records in the division, having allowed just 18 goals in 20 league outings. They haven’t been very prolific at the other end of the pitch, as they managed just 25 goals in 20 rounds this season. Alexander Meier has been Eintracht Frankfurt’s most influential player throughout this Bundesliga campaign, helping the team with five goals and two assists in his 17 league appearances. Eintracht can count on their home form ahead of this clash as they are one of the top home sides in the division, having won six and drawn three of their nine home league fixtures. In addition, Eintracht Frankfurt looked very solid at the back at home over the past few months, conceding just once in their last six games across all competitions. Furthermore, Eintracht Frankfurt are undefeated in their three home meetings with Ingolstadt in all competitions, winning once and drawing twice in the process.

Ingolstadt Preview

Ingolstadt have been terrible in this early part of the new year, having lost three of their first four league outings after the winter break. The worrying fact is that Ingolstadt have failed to score a single goal in all of their three Bundesliga defeats of the year, including their 0-2 home loss at the hands of Bayern Munich last weekend. This leaves Ingolstadt only in 17th spot in the Bundesliga table with 15 points to their name after 20 league outings, already four points behind safety. Similar to Saturday’s opponents, Ingolstadt have also struggled to find the back of the net throughout this Bundesliga campaign. They have only scored 17 goals in 20 league fixtures, which is the second worst offensive record in the division. Markus Suttner has been Ingolstadt’s most in-form player so far this season, helping the team with three goals and three assists in his 18 league appearances. Their away form has also been a problem as Ingolstadt are one of the worst away teams in the Bundesliga, having collected just seven points from their ten league trips this season. Head-to-head, Ingolstadt are winless in their last three meetings with Eintracht Frankfurt in all competitions since a 2-0 home win back in October 2015.

Eintracht Frankfurt Team News

Slobodan Medojevic, Mijat Gacinovic, Andersson Ordonez and David Abraham are all doubts, but Marco Fabian and Yanni Regasel are both missing through injury. The good news is that Marc Stendera, Guillermo Varela, Marco Russ and Soares de Oliveira Anderson are all back in training.

Ingolstadt Team News

Moritz Hartmann and Stefan Lex are both missing through injury, while Martin Hansen and Marcel Tisserand are both doubts.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Although that Ingolstadt proved to be a tough nut to crack of late, Eintracht Frankfurt have been impeccable on home soil over the past five months and I’m backing them to continue this run with another victory in this one. Furthermore, Eintracht Frankfurt have been very well-organized at the back throughout this campaign, and I’m expecting them to keep a clean sheet here.
