Eintracht Frankfurt vs Borussia Dortmund Match Prediction

By William Hall

Eintracht Frankfurt welcome Borussia Dortmund to the Commerzbank Arena in the Bundesliga this weekend. Both sides come into this game on excellent form with Frankfurt winning three of their last four games and Dortmund winning four of their previous five. Eintracht Frankfurt were able to get a critical win away to Hannover on the weekend which was arguably their best one of the season whereas Dortmund suffered their first defeat in of the season at home to RB Leipzig. A response will be on the script for the side this weekend who will want to stay at the top of the Bundesliga as deep into the season as possible. Read on for a full match preview complete with all our best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Although Eintracht Frankfurt come into this one on very good form but with Borussia Dortmund coming into this one off the back of their first defeat of the season, I can see them going out and wanting to prove that it was just a one-off result. With Aubameyang in excellent form once again having scored ten goals in eight games, he will be looking to also get back on the scoresheet this weekend. Borussia Dortmund got the better of their opponents on both occasions last season, and both times, the Gabon international scored showing he likes this fixture. I really can't see past an away win this weekend even through Frankfurt have been playing very well. Here are my favourite betting tips and predictions for the game.

Eintracht Frankfurt Preview

Eintracht Frankfurt come into this one having won three of their last four games, most recently beating Hannover 2-1 away from home which any team in the league would see as a great result. Frankfurt took an early lead in the game with Haller scoring after just ten minutes. Hannover pilled the pressure on for about 20 minutes after that and were rewarded it nine minutes before halftime when Sane buried a smart cross from Schwegler. It looked as if both teams were going to walk home with a draw, but when Rebic stepped up with a minute to go and slotted home, it sent the away fans back very happy. Those three points have taken them to 7th in the Bundesliga which has marked off a great start to the season for the side.

Eintracht Frankfurt Team News

Eintracht Frankfurt will have just one player missing this weekend with Simon Falette out with a red card suspension.

Borussia Dortmund Preview

Borussia Dortmund are currently sat two points clear at the top of the Bundesliga but do come into this game off the back of their first loss which would have been frustrating for the side. A reaction will be wanted this weekend, and with the quality this team have to offer, I can't see them making the same mistakes twice. As expected, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the sides top goalscorer this season with an outstanding ten goals in just eight matches. After a lot of talk about the Gabon international leaving the club in the summer. The board at the club will be happy to have him at Dortmund still, and if he can keep this goalscoring form up, he will take them a long way.

Borussia Dortmund Team News

Borussia Dortmund have five players who look as if they will miss the game this weekend with Sebastian Rode (groin injury), Eric Durm (hip injury), Lukasz Piszczek (knee injury), Marco Reus (ACL) and Sokratis Papastathhopoulous (suspension) all out. Andre Schurrle (thigh injury), Marcel Schmelzer (ankle injury) and Raphael Guerreiro (foot injury) are all back in training and could make a return this weekend.
