Dijon vs SC Bastia Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Dijon and SC Bastia will be facing each other at the Stade Gaston-Gerard on Saturday night, with both teams aiming to get back to winning ways in Ligue 1. Dijon managed a 1-1 away draw at Marseille, despite the fact that they had the lead at halftime following an own-goal from Gregory Sertic. Meanwhile, SC Bastia were beaten 0-1 at home by Lille despite the fact they head more goalscoring opportunities than the hosts. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news and match stats all in our SBAT.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Both sides have endured a disappointing run of form over the past few months, but Dijon can count on their head-to-head home record over Bastia ahead of this clash. Dijon are unbeaten in their last four home meetings with Bastia in all competitions, keeping a clean sheet in three of these. I’m also expecting a low-scoring affair, as Bastia have failed to score in each of their last three away league games, while Dijon have only conceded two goals in their last three home fixtures in Ligue 1.

Dijon Preview

Dijon did well to held Marseille to a 1-1 away draw last weekend, but they remain unbeaten in six league outings. Their sole victory in the last ten games across all competitions was a 2-0 triumph over Caen back in the middle of February. The minnows are just outside the drop zone at the moment, as they sit in 17th spot in the standings, just one point clear off the first relegation-placed Nancy. Dijon managed an impressive tally of 39 goals throughout this Ligue 1 campaign, but their defence has been the main reason for their struggle. Dijon have conceded 48 goals in 31 league games, which is one of the worst defensive records in the division. Their recent home form has also been an issue as Dijon have only won two of their last ten home fixtures across all competitions, and enter the fray on the back of two straight 0-1 defeats at the hands of Nice and Saint-Etienne in their most recent two home league fixtures. The good news is that Dijon are unbeaten in their last four home meetings with SC Bastia across all competitions, keeping a clean sheet in three of these. Julio Tavares and Lois Diony are two players to watch here, as the pair bagged 17 goals and nine assists between them.

SC Bastia Preview

Meanwhile, SC Bastia are the most out-of-form team in Ligue 1 at the moment as they come into this clash on the back of a 13-game unbeaten streak. They were also eliminated from the Coupe de France during this poor run following a humiliating 7-0 defeat at the hands of Paris Saint Germain. The most worrying fact is that Bastia have failed to score a single goal in their most recent four games in Ligue 1. Scoring goals has been Bastia’s main issue throughout this league campaign, as they hold the second worst offensive record in the division with just 24 goals scored in 31 rounds. The Corsicans are rock bottom of the Ligue 1 table with 25 points to their name after 31 league games, four points behind safety and their Saturday’s opponents. Furthermore, Bastia are the worst away team in Ligue 1 at the moment, having collected just 7 points from their 15 league trips so far this season. In addition, Bastia have only won one of their seven visits to the Stade Gaston-Gerard, having scored just five goals in the process. Enzo Crivelli is Bastia’s topscorer with seven goals under his belt, but he hasn’t found the back of the net over the past two months.
