Dijon vs Nantes Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Dijon welcome Nantes at the Stade Gaston-Gerard on Saturday evening, with both sides looking to build on their recent victories in Ligue 1. Dijon managed a hard-fought 1-2 away win at Metz on Saturday thanks to goals from Cedric Varrault and Naim Sliti. Meanwhile, Nantes won 2-1 at home over Guingamp, with Chidozie Awaziem and Abdoulaye Toure both getting on the scoresheet. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news, match stats and odds all in our SBAT preview. Feel free to visit our Bet of the day page to check our best daily tips.

Betting Predictions and Tips

Nantes are the in-form team and I’m backing them to continue their impressive run and to secure another positive result in this one. I’m not fancying goals as Nantes looked incredibly solid at the back throughout this campaign and they have also kept two clean sheets in two of their last three visits to the Stade Gaston-Gerard.

Dijon Preview

Dijon’s five-game winless streak in Ligue 1 ended last weekend as they picked up a narrow 1-2 away win at Metz. This lifts Dijon in 17th in the Ligue 1 table tied on nine points with Amiens and Rennes, just three points clear of the bottom three. Dijon hold one of the best attacking records in the bottom half, but their defensive line has been a complete mess. They have conceded 20 goals in ten rounds, which is the worst defensive record in the division. Their recent home form has also been a problem as Dijon are winless in four games across all competitions, conceding at least two goals in two of these. Overall, they have only won once in their last eight home games across all competitions. In addition, Dijon have only won once in their five home meetings with Nantes across all competitions, scoring just four goals in this term. Last season, Dijon have suffered back-to-back defeats against Nantes, scoring just once in this term. Benjamin Jeannot and Chang-Hoon Kwon have been Dijon’s most prolific players in front of goal so far this season, as the pair bagged five goals and one assists between them.

Dijon Team News

Eden Massouema and Vincent Rufli are both doubts, but Wesley Lautoa is still out through injury.

Nantes Preview

On the contrary, Nantes have enjoyed an impressive run of form over the past two months, winning six and drawing two of their last eight games in Ligue 1.They did well to hold Bordeaux to a 1-1 away draw after the International break and followed this up with a 2-1 home win over Guingamp last weekend. Claudio Ranieri’s men currently sit third in the standings with 20 points to their name after ten rounds, just two points of the second-placed Monaco. Their defensive line has been the main reason for their impressive performances throughout this campaign as they hold the second best defence in the division with just seven goals conceded in ten games. At the other end of the field, Nantes have only scored nine goals this season, including two from their topscorer Emiliano Sala. Away from home, Nantes are undefeated in four league trips at the moment, keeping two clean sheets in the process. In addition, Nantes picked up a narrow 0-1 victory at Dijon in their most recent visit to the Stade Gaston-Gerard. Head-to-head, Nantes have won three of their last four meetings with Dijon across all competitions, scoring at least two goals in each of these.

Nantes Team News

Joris Kayembe Ditu is missing through a cruciate ligament injury, but Kolbeinn Sigthorsson and Kalifa Coulibaly are both doubts.
