Derby County vs Queens Park Rangers Match Prediction

By Richard McTiernan

Championship table. Here we have our match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats. Derby were held to a 1-1 draw in their last game as they battled out a point at Craven Cottage. They needed a 50th minute Matej Vydra goal to get them back in it and the expected goals data suggests they were a little lucky to get that point. QPR made it back-to-back defeats as they suffered a 2-1 home loss to Aston Villa. Jamie Mackie had given them the lead in the 18th minute but the visitors went on to claim a much-deserved victory. The two meetings between the pair last season in the Championship were won by the Rams 1-0. It continues a low scoring trend that has seen each of the last six go under 2.5 goals and five of these ending 1-0.

Betting Tips and Predictions

The prices on offer for the match markets look about right with the Rams the favourites for the game given their form and the problems the visitors have faced on their travels. That being said the prices do not scream out for a bet on the match markets. Both teams to score looks the right bet with this happening in each of the last four for Derby and six of the last eight for QPR. In addition, look at the game having over 2.5 goals which has happened in three of the last four both teams.

Derby County Preview

The Rams have stuttered a little recently taking one point from their last two but overall their form is good with just one defeat from their last nine. The Rams are in eighth place in the table but do have a game in hand of most sides and just one of their next five is against a top eight side. At the iPro Stadium, they have four wins, one draw and just one defeat from their last six league matches. Just two of their seven they have played in front of their own fans has gone over 2.5 goals. Around 58% of the goals they have scored this campaign have come in the second-half and each of their last five. Four of the last six that they have conceded have come in the first-half of ties.

Derby County Team News

Jason Shackell (calf), Darren Bent (hamstring) and Mason Bennett (knee) are day-to-day while Kyle McAllister (groin) is a long-term absentee.

Queens Park Rangers Preview

It has been a mixed bag for the Rs lately with two victories, two draws and two defeats from their last six. They sit in 15th place in the league and this marks the start of a run of games that sees them take on just one of the bottom eight in their next seven. Away from Loftus Road, they have played eight times this campaign and won none of these with three ending in a draw and five in defeat. In just one of their last six on the road have they failed to score. Three of the last four they have scored have come in the first-half with over the season 45% of their goals coming in the opening 45 minutes. The average time of their first goal conceded is the 40th minute though this drops to the 33rd for away ties.

Queens Park Rangers Team News

Grant Hall (knee) has been ruled out for the season while James Perch (dislocated kneecap) and Nedum Onuoha (hamstring) are doubts.
