Deportivo La Coruna vs Levante Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Deportivo La Coruna were thrashed 7-1 by Real Madrid during the weekend, as the club fell to their biggest defeat of the season. Even though Adrian provided Deportivo with a shock lead at the Santiago Bernabeu, goals from Nacho (2), Gareth Bale (2), Cristiano Ronaldo (2), and Luka Modric provided a comprehensive victory for Zinedine Zidane’s team. Levante lost a fourth consecutive match after a 2-1 loss against Villarreal. A penalty from Manu Trigueros in the first half followed by Denis Cheryshev’s second-half goal put Villarreal in a commanding position. Roger Marti Salvador’s late penalty did provide a consolation for the away team.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

This game happens to be a perfect six-pointer with both teams struggling for form. Deportivo La Coruna are especially in deeper trouble after suffering some heavy defeats of late. Even though Levante also come on the back of three consecutive losses, the team has faced Barcelona and Villarreal in two of those matches. Three out of the recent games between these two teams have been a stalemate, and I would back the same.

Levante have struggled in front of goal and their late goal against Villarreal helped end a run of four games without a goal. Still, this match can be expected to witness more than 2.5 goals, as La Coruna have been disastrous at the back. I would back over 2.5 goals in this game.

Deportivo La Coruna Preview

Deportivo La Coruna’s fortunes have not improved even after the managerial change that led to Pepe Mel’s departure. In fact, the last couple of matches have produced more concerns for the club – none more so than the 7-1 loss against Real Madrid. The next couple of weeks could be massive for the club with opponents like Levante, Real Sociedad, and Espanyol coming up. Alejandro Arribas is the significant departure, while Eneko Boveda and Maksym Koval have been brought in to strengthen a fragile defence. La Coruna now have the second worst defensive record with 44 goals conceded – only three shy of Las Palmas.

Deportivo La Coruna Team News

Bicho (shoulder), Pedro Mosquera (groin), Raul Albentosa (back), Luisinho (back), Sidnei (thigh), and Bruno Vilela Gama (stomach) are the players unavailable for Deportivo La Coruna.

Levante Preview

Levante are being sucked into the relegation battle owing to a winless run that now stretches to 8 matches. Since October, Levante have managed only one league victory and it was against fellow strugglers Las Palmas. Only two points separate Levante from the bottom three and it is too close of a gap for the club to be comfortable in the second half of the campaign. Levante no longer can do with just points from stalemates, as the club need to ramp up their wins.

Levante Team News

Sergio Postigo is the only name unavailable due to suspension, while Levante manager Juan Muniz will also be without Ivan Lopez (cruciate ligament), Alex Alegria (cruciate ligament), Raul Fernandez (hip), and Antonio Garcia Tono (groin) due to injury.
