Deportivo La Coruna vs Las Palmas Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Deportivo La Coruna moved even closer towards relegation after the 2-0 away defeat against Girona. Christian Stuani continued his excellent run with the opening goal from a set piece situation. The 22nd minute goal provided the hosts with the confidence to go and beat Clarence Seedorf’s team. A second-half goal from Juanpe made sure of the three points for the hosts. Las Palmas slipped further behind safety following a 2-0 home defeat against Villarreal. Carlos Bacca provided the breakthrough in the game with a thunderous 67th minute strike. Alejandro Galvez conceded a late penalty and received a straight red card. Nicola Sansone converted this resulting penalty for a comfortable Villarreal win.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Las Palmas failed to make the most out of a home game against a struggling Villarreal team. Even though Deportivo La Coruna are also in the relegation mix, the team has home advantage. Clarence Seedorf is in charge of a team which has not managed a league win in 13 attempts, but the club are certainly due a win. Riazor is the best possible place to pick up this win. Seedorf needs to do little in order to motivate his players, as they would be aware that this match represents the best option to survive in the La Liga. I would back a win for Deportivo La Coruna. Both teams have been quite poor in front of goal. La Coruna have managed just one goal in six games while Las Palmas have managed slightly better with a return of three goals. These two teams have faced each other three times in the 2017-18 campaign. All of the games have produced over 2.5 goals. Yet, I expect this game to be quite the opposite with under 2.5 goals in total.

Deportivo La Coruna win – 8/11

Total goals under 2.5 – 43/40

Deportivo La Coruna saw over 1.5 goals in 10 out of their last 10 games played against Las Palmas

Deportivo La Coruna Preview

The honeymoon period for Clarence Seedorf now looks officially complete with the club turning in with a rather mediocre performance against Girona during the weekend. The game witnessed one of the poor performances for the team since the arrival of the Dutchman. Despite having played well in a couple of matches, the lack of goal scorers has led to La Coruna still remaining in the bottom three. The club now have to make up five points in order to achieve safety.

Deportivo La Coruna Team News

Bicho (shoulder), Federico Valverde (hamstring), Federico Cartabia (thigh), Edu Esposito (illness), Eneko Boveda (calf), and Luisinho (leg) are the players missing from action for La Coruna.

Las Palmas Preview

The disappointing performance at home against Villarreal may just signal Las Palmas giving up hope of staying up in the division. Las Palmas may occupy the final relegation spot, but the recent developments have put the club four points behind Levante in the safety provisions. La Union Deportiva are without a win in six matches and face the serious prospect of relegation if they fail to pick up wins in the next couple of games. Fortunately, Las Palmas have a couple of six-pointers coming up in the next few weeks.

Las Palmas Team News

Pedro Bigas (groin), Dani Castellano (groin), and Jairo Samperio (hamstring) are the names missing from action for Las Palmas.
