Deportivo La Coruna vs Granada Match Prediction

By Gary Gillles

Deportivo La Coruna come on the back of a second consecutive defeat, as Valencia managed a 3-0 win over Pepe Mel’s team at the Mestalla. Deportivo La Coruna failed to convert an eighth minute spot kick, as Faycal Fajr’s penalty was saved. Ezequiel Garay scored from a corner two minutes later. An own goal from Albentosa provided Valencia with a significant advantage, while Joao Cancelo breakaway goal provided a convincing look to the score. Granada suffered a fourth consecutive loss, but the team did put in a good performance against Barcelona in the 4-1 loss. Luis Suarez’ goal just before half-time was cancelled out by Jeremie Boga’s 50th minute goal. However, Barcelona won thanks to goals from Paco Alcacer, Ivan Rakitic, and Neymar. Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Deportivo La Coruna have managed two wins in the last three games, but their performances have been excellent since the arrival of Pepe Mel. Since the 54-year-old took charge, the team has suffered just two defeats in the six games. Granada have taken only three points in the 15 away games and they are yet to win an away match. I would back Deportivo La Coruna for a win. Granada have conceded 44 goals in their 15 away matches at an average of close to 3 goals per game. Even in the last six away matches, Granada have conceded 2.6 goals per game on average. I would back Deportivo La Coruna to score over 2.5 goals.

Deportivo La Coruna win – 8/13

Deportivo La Coruna to score over 2.5 goals – 12/5

Deportivo La Coruna Preview

The initial run of good results following the arrival of Pepe Mel has turned sour in the last few games. The threat of relegation persists, as the club are only five points above the drop zone. Immediately upon the arrival of Pepe Mel, results improved substantially and the team went four games without defeat. However, the 1-0 loss against Celta de Vigo – despite playing well – seems to have taken the sting out of the team. The club have some important home games against the likes of Granada and Malaga coming up.

Granada Preview

Granada had made it a priority to get wins at the Nuevo Los Carmenes. After three consecutive wins, however, the club has lost their last two games. In fairness, though, these two matches were against Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. On the road, however, Granada are yet to win a game in 15 attempts. The closest Granada have come towards taking an away win is through three draws. Granada’s last away point was at the start of December – almost 4 months ago. Besides the lack of away points, Granada have conceded 44 out of their 62 goals in the away games.
