Denmark vs Poland Match Prediction

By Marius Hrebenciuc

Denmark and Poland will be facing each other at the Telia Parken on Friday night, with both teams looking to extend their unbeaten run in the World Cup qualifying group E. Denmark come into this clash on the back of a 1-3 victory in Kazakhstan in their most recent qualifier, with Nicolai Jorgensen, Christian Eriksen and Kasper Dolberg getting on the scoresheet for the Scandinavians. Meanwhile, Poland beat Romania 3-1 at home in June with Robert Lewandowski netting a hat-trick. Below we have our betting tips, predictions, team news and match stats all in our SBAT preview.

Betting Predictions and Tips

We should see a couple of goals here for sure as each of the most recent four games between these two sides have seen at least four goals scored. In addition, both teams got on the scoresheet in the last five meetings between them. I’m also expecting Robert Lewandowski to get on the scoresheet in this one as he netted a hat-trick in the reverse fixture and he is currently the qualifying’s joint topscorer.

Denmark Preview

Denmark have endured a mixed run of form throughout this World Cup qualifying campaign, but they looked pretty solid over the past months. The Danish are undefeated in the last five games across all competitions, winning two and drawing three in the process. They were very close to securing a home win over Germany in a friendly game in June, but they had to settle for a creditable 1-1 draw. However, Denmark bounced back with a comfortable 1-3 victory on the road at Kazakhstan four days later. This leaves the Scandinavians in third spot in the group E table, tied on 10 points with the 2nd-placed Montenegro, but already six points behind the current leaders and their Friday’s opponents Poland. At home, Denmark have only lost once in their last six home games across all competitions, while winning four in the process. Furthermore, they looked impressive in front of goal in front of their own home fans recently, scoring at least four goals in three of their last six home fixtures. In addition, Denmark have picked up victories in each of the last four home meetings with Poland across all competitions, scoring at least two goals in each of these. Christian Eriksen is Denmark’s topscorer in this qualifying campaign so far with four goals under his belt, but Andreas Cornelius, Kasper Dolberg and Nicolai Jorgensen are also quality players.

Denmark Team News

There are no fresh injury concerns or Denmark ahead of this tie.

Poland Preview

Poland suffered a penalty-shootout defeat at the hands of the eventual champions Portugal in the quarter-finals of the Euro 2016 last summer, but they managed to put this behind them and head into this tie on the back of a seven-game unbeaten run across all competitions. The Poles have won five and draw once in their six games in this World Cup qualifying campaign and sit comfortably at the top of the group E table with 16 points under their belts. Poland looked incredibly strong in front of goal throughout this campaign, scoring at least two goals in each of their opening six games. Robert Lewandowski has played a crucial role in Poland’s performance throughout this World Cup qualifying campaign, as he is the qualifying’s joint topscorer with eleven goals under his belt in his six appearances. Away from home, Poland managed a 2-2 draw against Kazakhstan along with back-to-back wins over Romania and Montenegro in this qualification campaign. Head-to-head, Poland have won the last two meetings with Denmark across all competitions, including a 3-2 victory in the reverse fixture. Robert Lewandowski netted a hat-trick in the reverse game back in October 2016 and he is definitely Poland’s most dangerous player in the final third.

Poland Team News

Michal Pazdan is still missing through suspension.
