Crystal Palace vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Crystal Palace lost their three-game unbeaten streak as they fell to a 2-1 loss against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. The Cherries took the lead after just five minutes through a brilliant finish from David Brooks. Even though Patrick van Aanholt was able to pull one back for Palace, a late own goal from Junior Stanislas led to a defeat. Wolves secured a much-deserved 2-0 win over Southampton to make their way up the league table. Southampton were resistant for much of the game but the opener came through Ivan Cavaleiro in the 79th minute. Jonny Castro made the three points safe with an effort three minutes before the final whistle.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Wolves make the trip to the Selhurst Park for the first time in five years. Even though Palace have been able to get three consecutive wins over Wolves, the head-to-head does not count much in this meeting with both squads having changed beyond belief in the last five years. Nuno has spent wisely in the summer and the intelligent Wolves squad has been making their way up the table. Palace looked devoid of ideas going forward and this is likely to lead to an away win.

Even though Wolves have a beautiful style of football, it has not yielded a tremendous amount of goals. In fact, all of the last league games involving Wolves have produced under 2.5 goals since the 2-2 draw with Everton on the opening day. Palace’s struggles going forward further make me go with under 2.5 goals in the match.

Crystal Palace Preview

Palace had no answer when the game against Bournemouth required more than a goal from the Eagles. Roy Hodgson’s men have been offensively poor this season and they have been relying heavily on Wilfried Zaha in order to get them through the matches. The struggles faced by Christian Benteke have been off the headlines for the time being, but the need to find a regular goalscorer is quite pressing within Crystal Palace. Hodgson has to improve the club’s offensive performances quickly before they take on the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea just after the international break.

Crystal Palace Team News

Jairo Riedewald (knee), Christian Benteke (knee), Connor Wickham (calf), and Scott Dann (cruciate ligament) are unavailable for Palace.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Preview

Wolves have been one of the best-promoted teams in recent times and the kind of football employed by Nuno has been a breath of fresh air. Until now, however, Wolves have been unable to get the results that they have deserved. The exit from the League Cup may aid in focusing entirely on the Premier League, and Wolves have a great chance to build on the recent run of results. Despite starting with a defeat against Leicester City, Wolves are unbeaten in five and they have dropped points only against the two Manchester teams in this run. The performances of Raul Jimenez have been crucial towards Wolves’ successes so far.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Team News

Nuno has the full complement of players available for this game.
