Crystal Palace vs West Bromwich Albion Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Crystal Palace continued their splendid form with a 2-1 win over Stoke City and the result relegated the Potters to the Championship. Even though Palace fell behind to Xherdan Shaqiri’s goal a couple of minutes before the break, James McArthur brought the visitors back on level terms just after the hour. Patrick van Aanholt completed the comeback with a goal in the 86th minute. West Brom, meanwhile, continued their splendid form under Darren Moore, as the team picked up a 1-0 win over Spurs. The game was heading for a draw before Jake Livermore scrambled the ball into the net with seconds left in the game. Despite the win, West Brom were relegated after Southampton’s win over Swansea.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

West Brom are likely to be deflated after their relegation. Meanwhile, Palace are looking to get a third consecutive home win. Even though the two teams have shared an even record in meetings at Selhurst Park since coming to the Premier league in 2014, the London outfit have the upper hand in terms of positivity. Furthermore, Moore might just encounter the ‘Manager of the Month’ curse. I would go with a win for Crystal Palace.

Palace have witnessed a flurry of goals in recent weeks with the goalless draw against Watford being the exception. West Brom have been able to score in the last eight matches without fail. There is a good chance of witnessing both teams to score, which is available at a fairly attractive price.

Crystal Palace Preview

Palace have been one of the top teams in the Premier League since the international break. In fact, only Manchester City and Chelsea have picked up more points than Roy Hodgson’s men in the last six games. This incredible form is leading Crystal Palace towards the top 10 places and such a position would be incredible for a club that spent majority of the first half in the bottom three. Palace were not out of the bottom three until almost half way through the campaign, but the former England manager has been able to do a stellar job – even when affected by a string of injuries.

Crystal Palace Team News

Jason Puncheon (cruciate ligament) is doubtful for the match, while Joel Ward (knock), Scott Dann (cruciate ligament), and Bakary Sako (broken ankle) are missing from action.

West Bromwich Albion Preview

The spirit shown by West Brom under Darren Moore has captured the imagination of fans supporting other clubs. Over the last five matches, West Brom have beaten the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham while drawing with Champions League finalist Liverpool. Such results had put the club on the verge of escaping relegation, but the team ultimately left themselves with too much to do after a disastrous form for most of the season. West Brom may only regret the decision not to bring in Moore earlier.

West Bromwich Albion Team News

Gareth Barry (knee) and James Morrison (Achilles tendon) are unavailable for West Brom.
