Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Hotspur Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Crystal Palace are four games without a win after a 3-1 loss against Everton at Goodison Park. After holding out in the first half, Palace collapsed in the second after conceding through Gylfi Sigurdsson, Omar Niasse, and Tom Davis. A late penalty from Luka Milivojevic was only a consolation for Roy Hodgson. Tottenham were forced into a second consecutive FA Cup replay after a 2-2 draw with Rochdale in the FA Cup. Ian Henderson’s goal just before half-time was cancelled out by Lucas Mora’s 60th minute goal and Harry Kane’s late penalty. Just as Spurs were preparing for celebrations, Steve Davis scored in the third minute of injury time to force a replay.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

This London derby comes at a disappointing time for Spurs, as they have been going through a terrible run in terms of the results. Palace have lost only once in the last six home games. Even though Spurs have been able to pick up back-to-back wins in their visits to Selhurst Park, it is difficult to overlook a run of five consecutive away draws for Spurs. I would back another draw in this game. Spurs and Crystal Palace have largely been involved in tight games, as just one of the last six meetings has produced over 1.5 goals. There have been five 1-0 wins during this period. A tight and intense affair is once again expected at Selhurst Park this weekend. I would back under 2.5 goals in this game.

Crystal Palace Preview

Crystal Palace have been going through a mediocre form in recent weeks, and it threatens to pull the club back into the relegation zone. Teams like Southampton and Huddersfield Town have been picking up a decent tally of points in recent weeks, Palace have to keep pushing in order to stay out of the bottom three. However, the lengthy injury list does not help Roy Hodgson in the efforts to fight against relegation. The London outfit have picked up just one win in the last six games of all competitions. Luka Milivojevic is the club’s top scorer with seven league goals.

Crystal Palace Team News

Roy Hodgson has a huge injury list with Mamadou Sakho (calf), Bakary Sako (ankle), Connor Wickham (cruciate ligament), Jason Puncheon (cruciate ligament), Jeffrey Schlupp (knee), Martin Kelly (hamstring), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (ankle), Scott Dann (cruciate ligament), Wilfried Zaha (knee), and Julian Speroni (knee) unavailable due to injuries.

Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Spurs were suffering from a disappointing home form at the start of the campaign. Now, it is the turn of the away games to induce worry for manager Mauricio Pochettino. Newport County surprised many by forcing Spurs into an FA Cup replay in the previous round, but Rochdale managing the same has raised questions. However, impressive away results like the draws with Liverpool and Juventus show that the team can raise their game when needed. Harry Kane is the top scorer in the Premier League with 23 league goals.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News

Toby Alderweireld is the only absentee for Mauricio Pochettino due to a hamstring injury.
