Crystal Palace vs Manchester United Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Crystal Palace lost for a second consecutive league game, as Harry Kane came up with the late winner for Tottenham last weekend. The 1-0 win for Spurs came in the 88th minute, as Palace were able to resolutely hold of their London rivals for most of the game. Manchester United came back from behind to get a 2-1 win over Chelsea last weekend. Willian’s breakaway goal provided Antonio Conte’s team with a lead, but Romelu Lukaku equalised in just a few minutes. A second-half goal from Jesse Lingard completed the comeback for Jose Mourinho’s men.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Aware of the several deficiencies for his team, Roy Hodgson is likely to go with a defensive approach for this game. Manchester United will need to find a way past a stubborn Palace defence, but the Red Devils have been able to get four wins in the last five visits to Selhurst Park. The 2-1 score has occurred thrice in this run, but United’s mediocre scoring form on the road is likely to end up producing under 2.5 goals in total. Romelu Lukaku has an excellent record against Crystal Palace after failing to score only twice in his last seven games against this club. His recent form is also extremely good, and he played an instrumental role in the win over Chelsea last weekend. I would opt for Lukaku to score anytime in this match.

Crystal Palace Preview

Crystal Palace have been unable to make any sort of a progress in the fight against relegation, as Hodgson’s men have been hit by a long list of injury problems. As a result, Palace have been unable to get a victory in more than a month. The draws with West Ham and Newcastle have been the only positives for Palace during this period. It certainly does not get any easier for the London outfit, as they get to face United, Chelsea, and Liverpool in the next four Premier League encounters. Most of the injured stars do not look likely to come back until the end of March. Luka Milivojevic tops the scoring charts at Crystal Palace with seven league goals.

Crystal Palace Team News

Roy Hodgson has Scott Dann (cruciate ligament), Wilfried Zaha (knee), Yohan Cabaye (groin), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (knee), Joel Ward, Julian Speroni (knee), Connor Wickham (cruciate ligament), Mamadou Sakho (calf), and Jason Puncheon (cruciate ligament) on the treatment table.

Manchester United Preview

Manchester United were able to produce a strong defensive display against Chelsea, while the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard came up with goals at crucial times in the game. United will need more attacking power in the forthcoming weeks, as the Red Devils need to pull away from Liverpool. The Merseyside outfit have been able to reduce the gap to just two points in the last couple of weeks. United host Liverpool at Old Trafford in the next game and the team needs to build up momentum for this fixture. Romelu Lukaku is the club’s top scorer with 13 goals in the league.

Manchester United Team News

Daley Blind (ankle), Ander Herrera (hamstring), Marouane Fellaini (meniscus), and Phil Jones (knock) are the four players unavailable for Jose Mourinho.
