Crystal Palace vs Leicester City Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Crystal Palace kept their noses ahead of relegation places after managing a goalless draw with Watford at Vicarage Road. There was little to separate the two teams but Palace had a lot more defensive pressure. At the other end, Roy Hodgson’s men only managed a solitary shot on target. Leicester City were also involved in a similar result in their game against Southampton. Once again, manager Claude Puel saw his team fail to take advantage of the slender chances – which largely fell to striker Jamie Vardy – that came along their way.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

This is a game that could fit the bill of an end-of-season affair, as it pits two teams that do not have much to play for in the remainder of the campaign. Palace have been involved in two draws over the last three matches. Crucially, the team has suffered just one defeat – against a brilliant Liverpool team – in the last five games. Despite home advantage, a draw seems the likely outcome. In fact, the last meeting between the two clubs at Selhurst Park – exactly a year ago – also produced a stalemate.

The game against Southampton marked Leicester City’s first failure to score in 11 league outings. In fact, the foxes have been unable to score only twice in the last 16 league outings. Palace also possess an equally impressive scoring record – despite being involved in a relegation battle throughout the campaign. A great option would be to back both teams to score.

Crystal Palace Preview

Palace have done exceedingly well to stay out of relegation trouble going into the last couple of games, as nervousness can potentially work against a team. Palace have a six-point advantage over the bottom three. Despite the last two league matches for Palace being potential six-pointer, manager Roy Hodgson is becoming increasingly confident about the club’s survival chances this season. Apart from the home defeat against Liverpool, Palace have been on a decent run over the last few weeks with two wins and two draws. Wilfried Zaha has been the key player for Palace but continues to be linked with a move away from the club.

Crystal Palace Team News

Bakary Sako (ankle), Connor Wickham (groin), Scott Dann (cruciate ligament), and Jason Puncheon (cruciate ligament) are unavailable for the club.

Leicester City Preview

The performances from Leicester have dropped a lot in the last few games. The team failed to dominate the game against relegation threatened Southampton during the weekend. The foxes were expected to get a victory and overturn a run of back-to-back losses. As it stands, the team may have given up on the Europa League places with Burnley nine points ahead. It is about sustaining a top-10 finish for Leicester and that looks almost done due to a healthy advantage over the likes of Newcastle.

Leicester City Team News

Leicester City will be without Kasper Schmeichel (ankle), Matthew James (Achilles tendon), and Vicente Iborra (hamstring), while Shinji Okazaki is rated as doubtful for the game due to an ankle injury.
