Crystal Palace vs Fulham Match Prediction

By Bharath Ramm R

Crystal Palace were able to get a point against Southampton following a 1-1 draw in the midweek action. After having experienced an enormous goal drought, Wilfred Zaha came up with the opener in the 41st minute. Palace were once again unable to hold onto a lead after James Ward-Prowse came up with the equaliser in the 77th minute. Zaha’s sending off in the 87th minute effectively prevented Palace from going for a win. Fulham ended a streak of four consecutive losses with a 4-2 win over Brighton. It was a remarkable result for the Cottagers, who were 2-0 down after 17 minutes following a brace from Glen Murray. Callum Chambers sparked the comeback in the second half before a brace from Aleksandar Mitrovic and Luciano Vietto completed the comeback.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Crystal Palace were able to get a comfortable win against Fulham in the opening game of the campaign, but this will be the first meeting between these two clubs at Selhurst Park in more than five years. Fulham are terrible when it comes to away matches and the team has only managed two points in away games. Meanwhile, the absence of Wilfred Zaha due to suspension is a major blow for the hosts. I would go with a stalemate for this reason.

Fulham have been able to register goals at a decent pace, but they have struggled with a lack of clean sheets. There have been just two clean sheets for Fulham so far this season in all competitions. Palace may be able to take advantage of this abysmal record even if they have been quite put going forward. I would pick both teams to score.

Crystal Palace Preview

Crystal Palace have been showing a lot of improvement under Roy Hodgson over the last few weeks. However, the club are not completely away from relegation trouble, as a lack of goals continues to plague the team. There is a heavy dependence on Wilfred Zaha for the goals and this does not bode well for a team that has a serious threat of relegation. The January transfer window has not offered much of a joy for Palace, who have only brought in Bakary Sako on a free transfer as the high profile signing. Still, Palace have made a sizeable improvement going forward over the recent matches.

Crystal Palace Team News

Wilfred Zaha is suspended for the game, while Pape Ndiaye Souare (dislocated shoulder) is unavailable due to injury.

Fulham Preview

Claudio Ranieri is certainly struggling to get proper results at Fulham, but the manager will be delighted with the victory over Brighton. The manner of result could actually propel Fulham into a great set of results, and it could not have come at a better time. The Cottagers have a tricky return of matches with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea being the opponents over the next five matches, while there are also games against relegation rivals like Southampton. A key towards Fulham avoiding relegation will be to get more goals from Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has 10 for the campaign.

Fulham Team News

Adetayo Edun (eye) and Alfie Mawson (knee) are the players missing from action for Fulham.
